Strange contractions.. maybe???

posted 4th Jul
Okay so I feel really silly for asking this, since I already have a child .. But I was induced with her and I hadnt had the honor of going through what Im going through now ... With that being said ...

I have been having contractions that are about 5-8 min apart and last for about 30-45secs... they are more annoying than painful ... for the past week or so ....

HOWEVER last night and today , Ive been getting these (what I think are contractions) that cut me into two right under the boobs and travel down my sides and into my back . It lasts about a min to a min and half and come and go every 15-20 mins .... and then in betweenthese painful ones I still get the annoying ones thatcome every 5-8 min ... Is it a irregular pattern and isjust pre-labor , or is this what I need to be keeping a closer eye on ???

With my first they had me on such a high amount of pitocin drip , that my contractions were one on top of another and were all painful .. so is this the way things start naturally ??

Thanks for any advice ladies

I was preclapmtic and they had to induce me from a fingertip dialated .. They used a foley bulb (its like a twist balloon that they place and then fill with saline) it uses gravity to open your cervix to a 3cm.... It took about 5.5 hours for that to work ( it was fairly pain free, andvery natural way to get things started) then they allowed me to get up and walk around a bit, strech and all that . then they started a pitocin drip to get my contractions started , it took about 8 hours for me to get from a 3cm to a 5-6cm , (they slowly increase the drip over the course of the 8 hours) .. but they broke my water and thats when things really started to progress , I ended up getting an epi a few hours after they broke my water ( my body decided to get to a 7 and stall out   ) (( I was trying to go natural , but needed the epi for blood pressure control since the contractions were putting such a strain on my body , since my body decided to take a break from dilating ) But after about two and half hours of being stuck at 7cm, everything finally dilated to a 10 , and I started pushing , they turned off my epi (again they new I wanted things as natural as medically possible ) and 45 min and a ring of fire (lol) later my first born was here   So all in all it was about a solid 16-17 hour labor .... good luck with yours
