Yay for MaKai!

He is officially using the signs we have been teaching him since birth!
He just turned 8 months old 2 days ago...and he can now sign milk (for when he wants a bottle), eat (for when he wants baby food), more (for when he wants more of baba or food) and omg...he signs "please" now!!!!!!!!
Its very new for us...and I cry i get so excited! He is amazing. Just shows to prove how smart we humans are at such early ages. Its truely amazing.
And he only uses them when he literally wants what he signs. Its soooo cute....he will be sitting there crying, and signing milk or something. Its sooooooooooooooo great and sucha huge accomplishment! Yay Kai-Kai!

A friend of mine signs to her little boy, her brother has downs so they all had to learn it, and use it with him at times.
Averie has signed too, more of thankyou than anything!!

After 8 months of the videos not loading to the computer (there was a bug stopping a download we needed) Carl fianlly is getting a new computer. I have my new laptop...but i dunno how to do any of it on here.
But...we'll have the new computer this weekend, and be able to FINALLY post videos! I am sooooooo excited. Im gonna be a video postin whore this coming week! Yay!

I was looking for a website that I could use to help my daughter with her signs and found this one. http://www.aslpro.com/cgi-bin/aslpro/aslpro.cgi

There are signs in there for babies and some of the signs for adults actually help also.

Another mom on BG also used this site and it worked well. I can't think of her name off the top of my head. Anyway, Marissa doesn't know many as we didn't teach her alot of them.  

I wish I would have! I'm sure they help out alot when they are younger.

Were pretty fluent in ASL...my 4 year old had to learn it to communicate, so we know alot of it.
We used the "Signing Time" videos to learn, and also had a personal instructor for about a year.
Jesiah can talk now....but he still uses it. Its proved great for him...he had two severly autistic children in his preschool class that were non-verbal, and Jesiahcould communicate with them, when all of the other kids couldnt. It was truely amazing   huge blessing.

when did you start teaching him this? they teach it at the day care on base.. and it helps so much when they can't quite just say what they want.. i wanna learn and teach my son too
