NEED AN ANSWER ASAP!

posted 3rd Jul
Here's the problem... I am 26 weeks pregnant and I love tea. I order mine from Gevalia.com Today I got a new shipment in and it was one I couldn't wait to try... "Chamomile Dream". I waited until just now to make it... I added honey and sat down to send an e-mail. I decided to first look up the benefits of chamomile. I'm one of those people that looks up everything. I was reading about it and this one website had it sounding amazing. Then at the very bottom it said "Do NOT drink chamomile tea while pregnant".   I should have checked that BEFORE I drank it... I know. So I called my doctors nurse and she said "call the ER doctor". I called them and they said "call NurseLink". So I called and the nurse said "oh... um... I don't know. Don't drink anymore and see if some one can get your doctor." What the heck?!?!?!?!? I'm sitting here now freaking out and finding stuff online like this:

chamomile was known to be a herbal abortive once upon a time. I'm not sure if it was just one of those back woods desperation moves or if its actually potent enough to do that....but I wouldn't take the chance.

Chamomile (Matricaria recutita, formerly M. chamomilla or Chamomilla recutita) is one of my favorite herbs to take during pregnancy. In Europe, it is used to quell nausea, ease digestion, relieve heartburn, reduce insomnia, and promote gentle relaxation. A cup of chamomile tea, slightly sweetened with honey, tastes exquisite. I sip it during the day as a tonic and before bed to induce peaceful sleep. Women who have had a miscarriage or spotting during their pregnancy should drink no more than a cup of the tea per day because chamomile is a mild emmenagogue. As mentioned above, some people are allergic to chamomile. Hold a small amount of chamomile tea in your mouth for a few seconds, then spit it out. If your mouth itches, or otherwise feels strange, do not use this herb.

chamomile can cause uterin contractions. it's best not to drink it early in pregnancy because it can cause miscarriage. not trying to scare you but, IDK much past that. I'd page your dr. unless someone else here can answer it better than I. Sorry if this doesn't help much

I told my doctor that I love tea and she said that it's okay as long as it's really weak tea....so I usually just add water to mine when I do...

how much did you drink? if it's only a little i wouldn't freak. sometimes it's nothing to worry about. i think people are really cautious for the "what if" than anything else..

I got the above from a website. You're ok girlie..try not to freak yourself out. Just proceed with caution next time. There's a link on that website of safe herbs

Well, green tea has the highest caffiene content of all the teas. I'd stay away from it.
