give me 5 hours

my baby has to undergo a CAT scan today and has to be ananthesied(sp?) and cant eat for 5 hours beforehand, he normally eats every 2 hours (hes 6 weeks on saturday) any tips or advice to get him to go longer??? im dreading this already, hes breastfed and has had the occassional formula bottle x

can he have water?

if he takes formula somtimes, id give him (her?) a bottle as late as you can, and hope for the best. breast milk digests faster, so the formula should hold him longer.

Try keeping him awake for a while and hopefully he'll sleep the majority of the time.

no , no water allowed. this is start of a long sad journey for us as it looks like my beautiful boy has craniosynostosis, and will probably require surgery.
Well here goes with the last feed, i only have 45 minutes left to fill him up!

ok, hes just had a little over 3oz formula then finished off with cuddles and a little breastmilk, hope this helps him sleep for the next 5 hours! we now have over an hours drive to the hospital, wish me luck!!!
