My mum and her gf trying to conceive...

I have mixed emotions on this obviously because it is my mum.. But i can see both sides of this argument
My mum is 46 and has 3 kids.. I am currently 26weeks pregnant and her GF has just announced she has been having treatment to have a baby for 3months.
She doesnt have any children herself so i can understand why she would want a baby.. But i cant help but feel its too rushed so soon after my baby? And it has also put a lot of stress on me and my siblings (because we stil havent got over the shock of our mother married for 20years leaving my dad last year for the woman across the road!) However i can understand her gfs longing to be a mother... What do u think?

I think your mom is kindof old to be raising a baby. By the time their kid is 18 your mother will be 64...

Your child's aunt or uncle will be younger than them... eh, kindof weird...

it's really up to them. that's a crazy story & i'm sorry you had to go through with that but like someone told me before.. be selfish for your happiness

i don't see anything wrong with them having a baby (maybe too soon, but when you know you know), but if i was you i would be upset for selfish reasons.

I know was a huge shock but suppose you cant help who u fall in love with! Just wish they didnt do that to my Dad though because hes a good man

My parents were 38 whenthey had me- so I know how crummy it can be to have older parents first hand. It sucks when your parents dont want to go out or go on amusement park rides when youre a lil kid... but eh I love them.

I say good for them if thats what they really want.

Well, I can understand why you might be uncomfortable with it being your mother, but I think it's great, personally

i think its great! my MIL and her long time partner breed cats for their babies.... im so tired of cats, babies are way more fun  

I'm actually going through this too now. I'm an only child and my mom is happy with that and super happy with her grandson. But ever since I found out I was pregnant her girlfriend has been obessed with havinga baby. She tried the adoption route but when they found out that she's gay they didn't let her since it is illegal in FL so now she's trying to conceive. My mom is 45 and her g/f is 44 i believe. My mom doesn't really agree with all of this but she supports her with whatever decision she makes. And they've been together for 9 years already and her g/f has no kids.
I think it's ridiculous at this stage in her life but it's her body and her choice. Also she's had a ton of health problems which make it dangerous for her to go through pregnany (diabetes, breast cancer, kidney and pancreas transplant to name a few).

If 2 people love each other and truly want a baby then, I'm all for it!!
IMO there are too many babies born into homes where they aren't even wanted so, when I see people going to great lengths to conceive a child it makes me happy b/c I know that they will appreciate that child

Its so nice to hear from someone else in a similar situtation.. My mums gf has also become obsessed with the idea since i told her i was pregnant. My mum is also not ecstatic about the idea but support her whole heartedly. I dont know what to do cos its a delicate situation with me at the moment cos the fact that they lied to me my brother my sister and my dad for years going behind our backs and then my mum just leaving my dad was a real blow.. dont think i could handle this so soon!

that hilarious. i say hey, if they want to, why not? i get why you could be a little wierd'ed out by the situation, but i kinda say more power to them!
