advice needed......

ok so me and my husband are supposed to leave our 4 1/2 week old baby with my MIL tommorow so we can go out to a baseball game and watch the fireworks, this is supposed to be an overnight thing, I am so nervous about it, I am not even sure if I will enjoy myself leaving him overnight, I am afraid I will miss him too much. We have only left him once and my MIL watched him for maybe an hour and a half while we went out to eat, she did fine then but I am still just nervous about it. What can I do to make myself feel better about it or how have some of you delt with this. Thanks

we all feel bad..but a nite away is good for us 2...im leaving my kids all week end for the 1st time ever..and my son is 11 yrs and 18 months old...but we need it...and for sure u will miss him...

Rest assured....things will be fine. Your MIL didnt kill the DH, did she?   Have fun.....would you MIL wanna keep Reagan too? Im sooo sleepy hehe.

We usually just call home when we miss her ,
& hearing her laugh makes us feel better .

i'm sure he'd be just fine. i mean she's obviously had babies too, you know? i know exactly what you mean though, my son is almost 3 months old and i havent left him with anyone, not even once.. i used to let my MIL help with my daughter (shes 14 mos now) and she freakin tried to take over her life and be her mom.. i still have so many problems with her about trying to take my daughter (oh well, she still loves me more). that's probably why i don't wanna leave my son with her though..

I say the same thing. I'm going to be scared to death. The only thing that will run through my mind is "it's been so long since she's taken care of a baby...things have changed.." haha. But it's good for you to get out and have a "You and your husband" night. You know everything will be okay, you're leaving him with a family member, not someone you don't really know. Have fun, atleast try. Keep checking on him.

I think leaving your babies with someone gets easier after the first one  

thanks for all your feedback! I will try to stay calm, but I will definately be checking in with her like every hour!! lol. Hopefully everything goes well!!
