Aunty VS. Teacher (opinons please)
posted 3rd Jul
So im taking care now of my brothers two twin daughters. My brother is very sick in the hospital out of town and will probably be there for a couple months. My sister in law told me the school doesn't allow junk food for lunch or snacks, which I totally agree with. Why give hyper children more artifical surgars. Fair enough.. However I am having a battle with their teacher. On the first day I packed the same lunch for both girls... it was half a tuna, lettus and cheese sandwich, half an apple and half an orange, a juice box and I made home made bannana muffins. So a muffin each. I recieved a note home that day saying the muffins were too high in sugar, and the juice box should be replaced with water. Even though I disagreed with her opinion I shook it off and the next day I sent the sandwich, the apple bananana, a water bottle and carrots with dip instead of a muffin. Well I got a phone call (didnt speak with her but she left a message) saying the dip was to high in fat and she wil take it away next time se shes the kids eating it. I tired to send cut up strawberries and pineapple with yogurt for them to dip it in and she disagreed with the yogurt saying its also to high in sugar. I do not know what else to send. These girls are well behaved, top readers in the class, just good kids. I think its because they have always eaten healthy. So yesturday so angry I sent them with a small bag of chips, yougurt, muffins dipped in sugar, cookies, pop, ect.....
my girls are home for the rest of the week cause I got them suspended, but I really dont think there was anything wrong with what i was sending (until i got pissed off and sent pop and chips... hehehe)
I just wanted to know is what I was sending before really that bad? are teachers usually this bitchy? hahaha

..what kind of school is this? They suspend kids because of what their parents pack in their lunch?. I see nothing wrong with their lunches ( - the last one.haha)

I think what you were sending is fine. She seems like a control freak, maybe you should try a slice of bread and water? I would talk to the principal.

I would have never been allowed in school! I think I had a pudding cup or cookies and chips everyday in my lunch growing up! I was the top of the class! I understand them wanting to promote healthy eating but give me a freakin break!

Are you serious? What a witch...Now you can't even give your child some yogurt or a muffin or hell a simple COOKIE! grah.... people need to lighten up.
This is why I want to homeschool lol..the shit these schools try to start is just crazy.

wow is all i have to say,, that is so dumb...how can you get any healthier? i mean im sure there are mothers out there sending them prepackaged lunchables with pretty much the same stuff in them as you were sending only they have presevitives and other BS in them.. id either call the princible or have your sil call.. that teacher is just being down right bitchy & DUMB...

Thats crazy evrything you sent (except for the stuff you sent when you were angry) was very healthy have you tried going up there and talking to the person in charge

Its a normal public school. I have heard of this before though and I do agree with bring healthier lunches. Kids get way to much sugar and dealing with classes of 25 kids.. OUCH... but honestly im a health freak (well i thought i was) what is wrong with juice? these girls are getting more than enough water.
I am 15 weeks prego and do have a short tension span right now, but honestly..hahaha

nothing you sent before sounds that bad...yogurt is a very health snack and is good for a growing digestive system...and a home made banana muffin is better than a store bought banana muffin because it has no perservatives..that teacher sounds like a bitch and i would request a meeting with her and/or the principal because thats rediculous.

My college professor always brought us donut holes before exams and told us to eat a few and take a few deep breathes because glucose and oxygen feed the brain!

WTF? Yogurt... muffins and fruit?? And suspended for their lunch?!??!? Did you talk to the principal??? and how old are these girls? I would be furious.

wow i cant even spell principal anymore.. thats embarassing

I would bring this up with the principal. I think that teacher has issues and yogurt isn't going to hurt those little girls.
