re: Aunty VS. Teacher (opinons please)

okay ~ yes it's over the top but evidentally all the parents know about it. I don't see why the girls got suspended because of something You did.

I don't think it's fair that to prove your point the girls had to suffer. They dont' have any control over what you packed in their lunches.

LOL- I really enjoyed the part where you were angry and spitefully sent in junk on purpose. Honestly, I think you need to speak to the principal, or some head-honcho in the school and explain it the same way you explained it here. There is nothing wrong with giving a kid a juice box, nor a dip, nor a yogurt with their lunch/snack. There was no reason for the teacher to overreact. Its not as if you sent in candy.

That is over the top. I can't believe a teacher would have a problem with a muffin and a juice box. I agree that the sugar snacks should be limited but kids need some form of treat. Maybe not at every 'meal' or lunch, but once in awhile is fine.

I would seriously have a meeting with the teacher and principal because getting suspended over a packed lunch is just silly. Why don't they provide lunch for the kids then if they want to be so crazy about it?

I understand why you got frustrated because the first two lunches were perfectly healthy. But now the girls are suspended so I don't really know that anything got accomplished except the girls got punished for something out of their control.

As a teacher, I would NEVER do this. In fact, in our town it wouldn't be allowed. We have a policy at a school I was at that said "If not everyone, than no one..."Which basically was saying that not everyone can afford stuff. For example, we offered books to be bought because we were going on a field trip. We wanted to offer books to the kids who wanted to buy them so they could get autographs from the author there. Our principal wouldnt allow that because everyne couldnt afford to do that. My point is, noy everyone can ALWAYS eat healthy or prganic because it gets expensive....Thats BS!! I would tell the principal you will call his supervisor to complain if this isnt resolved immediately, A kid should NEVER be suspended because of a parents actions!! I would be irrate!!

Yogurt is one of the few ways I would get calcium when I was younger because I hated milk and never drank it. I would say that is perfectly fine!

Ok, I'm not saying give them cookies or chips. I'm saying fruit... but if the school doesn't allow sugar at all then you should have given them pretzels or something along those lines. Why give them a total sugar lunch and get them suspended?

Who cares.....a princpal and/or teacher should NEVER suspend a kid for what a parent, aunt, uncle, grandma, friend, etc does. That is BS. You would be pissed if you got fired from your jobbecause of something someone else did. Especially if the teacher knows kids don't pack their own lunch. Geesh.
