birth weight.

The u/s lady said the birth weight they give to give or take a pound and she told me 7lbs 14oz but said she wouldnt round up to 8lbs 14oz but down to 6lbs 14oz.
How accurate was your estimated birth weight for you? and how many weeks were you when you got it done??

Mine wasnt' close for either baby. The first was supposed to be over 9 lbs and he was 7 lbs 10 oz. The second came 2 1/2 weeks early. They still expected her to be over 8 lbs and she was 6 lbs 2 oz but very healthy  

At 36 weeks, they estimated my little girl at 5lb 9 oz and she should have been gaining about a 1/2 pound a week. Well, I had her a week later and she was 6 lb 2 oz...so pretty much on target  !

I was told at 40 weeks my baby was around 9 lbs... she was born 8 lbs 6 oz...

I was told at 38 weeks my baby was at least 9 1/2 lbs... he was born two weeks later at 7 lbs 9 oz...

hmm i wonder how off or how close mine will be.

Well with my daughter a nurse told me what I weighted at birth is pretty much want she would. I was a 8lb baby and so was my daughter. I am still a little early for them to guess what my sons weight might be.

My first was estimated to be about 8lbs..he ended up being 9lbs 11oz

oh wow. i was only 5lbz 8oz and the lady said she's for sure bigger than that. i've never heard of baby being same weight you were.

Dont think they told me on my daughter she was 7lbs 5ozbut my son they said he would be about 6 lbs well he was 9lbs 6oz at birth...they were a little off  

when i had jasper at 34 weeks they sid that he would be around 5lbs 11oz
he was 6lbs 2.8oz
and that was the same day

wow. he was a preemie too wasn't he??? all these preemies were bigger than me and i was freakin' 20 days late! lol

My son at birth weighed 5lbs. 13oz. He was born at 37.5 weeks. My nurse practitioner said that he'd be about 7 lbs. at birth. Even if he made it to 40 weeks, I doubt that. I think she told me this in my third trimester too. I wonder how big this baby will be. I have a feeling she'll be small but maybe not as small as my son.

perhaps it's still too early? But I just had an u/s a week or 2 ago and they never gave me a guesstimate on how much she'll weigh at birth, just how much she supposedly weighs when they measured her. I'll get a couple more ultrasounds, but at what point do they start guessing birth weight?

she did it at my 38 week appt and also to see if she's breech or not.
