Your baby's name...do "they" Like it?

So ive noticed from personal experience and from others stories that alot of the time family members dont agree with the name you picked out for your child. So what name did you pick...and what did family say about it? Did they like it or not?
I picked the name Brynlee Reese for our daughter my mom and step dad LOVE it...but my MIL and that whole side of the family hates it. They said its ugly and dont know why I would do that to my child. And that no one would be able to pronounce it anyway. They think I should have gone with the Name HARLEY instead.

My parents think the name "Julien" isn't all that great. They like the name "Kai" (his middle name, which I love but didn't want to use as a first name because it's a bit too common nowadays). My sister and friends all tell me they love the name Julien though.

same here! my family loves the name we picked out (Lorelai Adele) but his family HATES it. my MIL wants us to name her Dakota....yeah....she thinks Lorelai is too "girly" but i have made it really clear that i could care less about what she thinks! and she keeps calling her Lorelee, and it's pissing me off already, she's had 4 months to learn it. i think Brynlee is very pretty, and it's different!

why wouldnt we be able to pronounce it??? are we all gramatical morons?
looks and sounds fine to me.
I've decided to name my son Jett Damien and my brother thinks I should have named him Jett Danger. i think thats a little too comic book for me tho. haha. my parents were asking me about it and if i was seriously gonna name my kid that, i said yeah. and they just kinda laughed and said okay. it was lighthearted tho.. not like they were laughing at my name choice. but more like they were laughing because my brother says he refuses to call him anything but Jett Danger. which is fine by me. he can have a badass nickname, who cares.

are they bikers or something? i personally think harley is a stupid name for a baby. i know a couple harleys and i feel bad for them. thats the exact reason we didnt tell anyone our baby name until later in the pregnancy, and i started with, "this is the name we chose, and if you dont like it kep your comments to yourself" then told them the name. they all liked lylian, but then tried to get me to alter a little and do like lylia instead or lilah. i was like what did i just say, THIS IS THE NAME WE CHOSE! and they all shut up, and if they dont like it, well theyre at least dealing with it.

This is the exact reason I dont not announce Caydens name to anyone until after he was born so noone could talk me out of it or give me their unsolicited opinions. Until 4yrs later I am just finding out that dh told the mil before his birth but that is a whole nother arguement we wont start again today!

Our son will be Liam Parker.
My parents and sister HATE IT. My MIL and FIL, HATE IT. The in-laws think it sounds like a girls name. And my parents...just don't like it.
But I love it, and so does my husband. That's all that matters.
