Yeah everyone can just kiss my A** if they don't like it. Lol... sorry pregnancy hormones talking. But yeah my hubby picked out her first name and I picked her middle name: Carisma Solyne. He always like the word Charisma but wanted to take the "h" off while I thought Solyne sounded cool and it means love in his language. My parents thought it sounded kinda weird and my dad even asked me,"Why don't you call her Angelina?" lol I was like ok dad. The hubby's side asked us why the name too, but I think they're getting used to it and they know that we're NOT going to change it. I just realized that not everything you do and say in life is gonna please everyone else. Oh well.

( his father is named Christian- so it was my tribute to him with out using the EXACT same name)

Thank you.. I figured it would be a good story to tell him when hes older. He is the first grandchild, first great grandchild and first boy 30 yrs so everyone is really looking forward to him. I just feel bad that my mom won't be here for his birth. (the hormones dont help any at all..)
Yes grandmas are crazy...

If you love it, then you shouldn't change it for anyone, I know I wouldn't. But yea, it's amazing how many peoplecan manage to mispronounce "Melanie". And I'm talking about people who are born here and only speak English.   They need to pick up "Hooked on Phonics".

lol ... sounds like my sister-in-law. They named their son "Titus". None of us gave them any grief about it, until they told us that "We named him that because there's no way you can make fun of his name". THEN we started pointing out the many ways we'd already thought of...

It's true that as a baby gets older, they just grow into their name (or the name becomes them).

OP -- your name is awesome! We (hubby)picked the name Olivia Mackenzie. He had my daughter on his side for the "Olivia". I haven't told my parents the name (my dad doesn't even know yet that it's gonna be a girl -- he'd rather not know until "it" is born). Hubby's family lives in Arkansas/Colorado. I don't know if he's told them, but I can't hear them from *here* anyways! ;)
