Homecoming Outfit

posted 3rd Jul
So a lot of ladies on here told me that I need to get a complete jumpsuit that covers every body part because the baby doesnt know how to regulate it's body heat yet. But I live in the heat of South Florida. My doc said pretty much all she needs is a onesie and a cap if I choose to have her wear one. But she said it's definitely WAY too hot down here to have the baby covered from head to toe. And that's at any given time. The only time she would make us put on something from head to toe, if weather permitted would be in the winter time (but considering we only have 1 real month of winter where it gets down to like 50 degrees in february), then she would have us put her in a jumper that covers everything. Just thought I'd let the ladies who live in the heat know this.

All you need is a onsie hun. If you live in Flordia in the summer, Pshh. You'll over heat you baby. I guess you would have to watch out for buggs and all that. Good luck.

I feel ya! It's like 100 plus degrees here in August.... I just can't imagine bringing him home in a lot of clothes. I was thinking a very light blanket for the air conditioned car ride home.... since my hospital is an hour away.

Yea it's only a 15 minute drive on the turnpike to and from work. I work for Siemens Building Technologies, I'm an Engineering Coordinator for them.

Are you delivering at Broward General? We live by A1A and Sunrise, so our ride home is about ten minutes! I packed a bunch of different outfits for him, including one that covers a lot. I was wondering about the heat too, but I guess he won't really be in the heat since the hospital is air conditioned, then the car, then home.

I'll be delivering at Memorial Regional in Hollywood. Yea my doc said even with the AC, all you really need is a blanket. But we're the Mommies, so we can choose whatever we feel is best for our babies!

If I'm in the heat too long NOW, the baby is already protesting by making me sick to my stomach!   I think you already have some mommy's best judgement on that one. Anyone who has done a Florida August knows the rules are different here! At least you get a bit of coastal breeze where you are at. Here in Orlando, midof the state, it gets disgusting in August! And beach is close, but still like 60 miles, so just a bunch of grumpy, sweaty, smelly tourists to add to the heat index! LOLBut boy, I sure went on ranting......SORRY my a/c in my car is on the fritz so it has been on my mind!
Go for the onsie and blankies in the car!

My doctor always told me to have my boys in one light layer more than I would want.. So if your good in a t-shirt and flip flops then by adding a hat and socks you'd be adding a light layer more to the babys outfit.... It's all so exciting isn't it... It really feels like the first time your doing it each time... The excitement that is...
