1 hour glucose testing???

Is this the one Im not allowed to eat before??? I cant remember what they said about it at my last appointment! My appt sheet also says rhogram if RH neg, theyre taking my blooood arent they? Vampires...

You can eat, but not a lot of sugar because thats what they're testing for.  and the Rhogam is a shot in the butt, if your blood type is negative.  I just did all that and it wasn't as bad as people say.

They didn't tell me to do anything special before. It's the 3 hour one (should you have to take it) that you cannot eat after 10 PM the night before.

you can eat before. just go two hours after and don't eat sugar that day

I was told I could eat before, and then the Vampire's office said I couldn't...so I didn't.

It's not so bad, really. You can get up and go do stuff while you wait for the hour to end.

Yupper. You drink a sugary drink, wait an hour, then you get your blood drawn. They;re testing for GD.

I wish I was paying more attention at my last appt. They should have written instructions down or something! My appt isnt until 130 either, Im gonna be starved!

I hate getting blood drawn...

its just testing your blood sugar for gestational diabetes, you go to the lab and drink this orange soda like drink and an hour later they take your blood. it wasn't bad at all, its just alot of soda to drink in one sitting.lol

my doctor told me not to eat 2 hours before, but earlier in the day is fine.

They only took mines once...and I failed my one hour so I had to go back for the 3 hour...now THAT sucked!

I think I should be okay whether I eat or not... My moms a diabetic so Ive had my blood sugar tested a few times before and its always been on the lower side of normal...

Just eat what you normally do.

I ahd to take the one housr and the 3 hour tests with my 1st baby... I wasn't alouded to eat after midnight the night before... Be careful when you brush your teeth because if you swallow ANY toothpaste it can cause your reading to be abnormal!!! Just a tip: If you can take the drink home with you... put it in the refridgerator(sp) It goes down AALLLOOOTTT better cold. I almost threw up every time I had to drink it! Good LUCK!
