It can cause your baby to have BM while still inside you. That is DANGEROUS. You'd honestly risk it just so you don't have to be pregnant anymore? IMO its not worth it.

Also, self inducing will only help you out if your body and baby is ready.

Castor Oil has not been proven to cause Meconium in the fluid
It is apparently coincidental because most people who try Castor Oil are also overdue
And when you are so far overdue, there is a higher chance of it anywayz
Do research on it, it has not been proven

Doctors aren't always right but all of them that work with my mom have told me that trying a small amount of castor oil, will notharm your baby. Its the girls who take 3 times the amount that their supposed to. Not pointing fingers at anyone but I know a lot of girls who will smoke or say a glass of wine here and there is okay but castor oil is a no-no. Seriously, people need to get their shit straight.

But I also can't stand it when girls throw a fit because they're a few days past their due date, or because they aren't going into labor the second they wake up on their due date. Your not really overdue till 42 weeks.

Maybe you could try asking your doctor to strip your membranes.

I did the walking, sex, nipple stimulation (which usually lead to the sex...) umm raspberry leaf tea... none of it worked. I had to be induced and finally had Aidan 9 days overdue thanks to a c-section... I NEVER tried Castor oil because of the risks involved and would NOT suggest it...

its not necessarily proven to cause it but if there a strong suspicion in the medical community that it could have that affect, thats too much chance for me to risk my child...

And if you dont mind being sick

I would not risk my child either if there were truly high suspicions on it

well, I know at my hospital they were VERY against it, more than just suspicious... I got that from my obgyn, the head RN ob coordinator, and my birthing class... I went9 days overdue and every appt past 36 weeks they reminded menot to try it... kinda got old, butfor me that was convincing enough... but every hospital is different

I agree, the baby won't come until he or she is ready BUT I remember my desperation when I was overdue. What "worked" for me? The caesar salad at White Spot has a reputation for inducing labor. So I had that PLUS calamari with tzatziki sauce (also has garlic) and a huge bowl of caesar salad that I made at home. At all of that on March 31 in the afternoon, labor started in the early hours of April 1st....(Of course my original due date was March 25).

It's a fucking LAXATIVE.

It causes MASSIVE diarrhea which CAN in turn cause contractions...also can cause the baby to poop and then inhale it's poop.

Ok definatly screw caster oil and mineral oil they both have a bad reputation and only a handful of good results screw that lol, now, i know im impatient but i have a good reason for it i promise its a sad soppy story and i dont exspect any sympathy but my moms birthday is on July 4th and she has colon cancer so i thought if i could somehow by a miracle have her by the 4th it would make my mom happy you know? BUT ANYWHO i did find something that HAS worked a little, i did some LIGHT yoga (belive me very light did everything that didnt involve me bending at all lol) and some lunges and streatches and set up the rest of her nursery and after all that (not much) i "checked myself" and im at one cm. (tip of your whole finger) so maybe i will get my wish, any other suggestions will be cool too so keep em coming!
