I recently graduated from high school. I was really looking forward to going to college and so were my parents. Until now, im six weeks pregnant, still havent told the folks. i dont wanna tell them til i have a plan of some sort. I still wanna go to college but how would that work? Is anyone either on the same page or has been here? Let me know how you made it. Thanks. Jess

I had my first baby my Junior year of High School. You get a good daycare that you trust and go to school!! Plain and simple.

What do you want to do? There are plenty of online colleges that are accredited.

A question to ask every single mother in America. After my divorce, I had four children, a full time job, and went to college. I had a lot of support from family and friends and the grace of god on my side. Believe in yourself and you can do it.

you can take online classes or do a correspondence course.

I'm doing a correspondence course through Penn Foster ( www.pennfoster.edu ) that I had already started before I got pregnant. I highly recommend it as long as you have any decent level of self-discipline, since there are no due dates for anything.

Some of our local colleges have child care, but I don't know how old they have to be. Plus there are a TON of online classes available at most schools or even an online schools. Just depends on what you want to major in.

This sounds weird, but college will be so much more affordable now! They throw grant money at single moms so they can get educated! My fiance has his entire last year at WSU paid for through grants because he has a child! We also qualify for a grant that pays for most of our day care needs at the on campus day care which is amazing!!! Get in contact with the school youre planning on attending and ask about grants like that!

That's assuming you want to be a stay-at-home mom. If not, then yeah, childcare. Same as any other mother who has a job or goes (/back) to school.

I got pregnant then decided to go to college. I'm going on 2 years at school with a 21 month old and I'm 6 months pregnant and still plan on taking anatomy in the fall. Its not at all impossible, you just have to be motivated. you get paid to go to school, which helps with money. You are now independent because of it and no longer have to list your parents. You can work a part time job and go to school, its a VERY common thing. A good portion of college students are single moms trying to make life better for their kids. Don't let having a baby stop you from achieving your goals.... You'll just end up bitter that you're working a dead end job.

That is what I was thinking. They offer low cost child care and you would probably receive more aid to help cover day care and cost of living expenses. It is very possible for you to have a child and still finish your degree. Let your professors know about your pregnancy and you should be ok.

you can do anything you put our mind to...an online college isnt necessarily your only option, b/c colleges offer day classes, night classes, and online classes. You can go part-time, or full-time.Since you can pick your schedule, you don't have too take classes all day, or even everyday of the week, that way you will only need minimal support to watch the baby whileyour at class for like an hour or two.

Good luck, just b/c you'll be a mom, doen't mean you can't follow your dreams...my mom did it with 8 of us
