re: How can i still go to college with a baby?

posted 2nd Jul
I've been in college for over 2 years now.
I've never stopped going full-time, even the semester I had my son.
If there's a will, there's a way.
I stay home with my son during the day and attend school during the evening.
Am I tired? Yes.
Is it easy? No.
But it's something I know I have to do for myself and my son.
I have a 4.0 gpa and you can bet I'm proud.
If you put your mind to it, you'll do wonderfully.

I did my spring semester this year on campus and this fall I'm taking online courses through my college so I can stay home all day with her, since the father isn't involved.

find out if ur school has family housing...that might help out a little....

if the college u plan on going to is in a college town then they might have student apartments. those are REALLY cheap and really nice, so u and baby could stay there. of course u would have room mates but each room has its own bathroom or u share a bathroom with another room and then there is a common area. its not that bad really......

u can work full time and go to school full time, and either get on a child care voucher ( ask around i dont know exactly how it goes by state) or just pay the day care.....its possible hun

I'm 19 years old, 12 weeks pregnant and currently attending college full time. I will do the same in the fall and part-time in Spring. I'm going for a Biology degree. I will then take another 1 or 2 courses over the following semesters, until I'm finished. This is what I've wanted my entire life, and there's no way I'm not going. If you have support from family & friends, work hard and believe in yourself there is no reason you can't go to college and have your child. Many, many women have children and go to college. People make it a bigger deal than it really is. Sure college is hard, unless your a genius don't expect a 3.99 gpa, the goal is to get the degree! I wish you luck and do not let anyone tell you that you can't because you are having a child. Many colleges now have daycare onsite even. Good luck and don't give up your dreams! You can be a great mommy and college student! Think about it - you'll be bettering your future which in turn helps your child.

You can still go to college if you have a kid, you can schedule your classes around your life, the college I went to had a daycare right at that the students could us and some of the people in my classes would even bring there kids to class sometimes if they couldnt get a babysitter or something. And also most colleges have special housing availble for families and stuff.

I am applying for a pell grant. If I get it then I will take most my courses online. Except for a few hard ones. Then I will just take those classes in the morning at the college while my fiance watches Lorelai. I am SOO excited about going back!
