"due on sunday"

So I had my 39th wk appt today and nothing! I'm still only 1 cm dilated but now instead of being a - 2 station this midwife said I'm not even like a - 4 if there was such a thing. She also said walking won't help at all which I thought was wierd and that I wasn't thinned out at all! I have had sex at least once a day since before I was pregnant! This sucks! Plus, they won't even induce me until the end of July! I want to try evening primerose oil, are there any neg. things about it?

i always thought if you was dilated walking would help

yea walking only helps when you are in labor, it speeds it up, it doesn't do anything before that..and sex does help..just make it a little rougher and make sure he goes inside of you...but don't worry, baby will come when ready...i was dilated to 3 for weeks and had to be induced cause baby kept bobbing up and down..but some women are completely closed and end up having their baby that day...and the evening primrose oil is safe..i used it w/ my first..it helps thin out your cervix..just use two caplets and put them as close to your cervix as you can..good luck and labor dust!!!

I would assume because you can have your baby up until 2 weeks after your due date...right?

The "end" of July would be 2 weeks past her due date at the earliest, thats counting like the 20th as the end of the month. Its not safe for the baby to be in there any longer than that. I didn't think most doctors would even let you go that long, a week at most. My friends gf was induced at 41 weeks 2 days, and her baby had already had a bowel movement in the wombwhich made it very sick and have to be in nicu for ten days. I know alot of ppl go past due, it just seems like her docs are waiting a long time.

I just realized you didn't get many answers about the oil steffi... you can do a topic search on here or on the web, it brings up alot about it. From what I gather the general opinion is that it is safe. The only negative I have heard about it is people taking it too early ( before they are even term)
