fuck...

posted 2nd Jul
My soon to be husband is graduating boot camp near the end of October or very early in November, I will be very pregnant, but you guys have no idea how bad I want to see him graduate. His training after boot camp is a year and I'll probably only see him once or twice which is going to suck. My mom is pissing me off because she's saying SO nochalantly that I won't be able to go anywhere like she doesn't give a shit when she knows how much he means to me.

How bad will it be if I take a plane to go to San Antonio for his graduation? I want to see it so bad...

Talk with your doctor. How long is the flight and how long will you be there?

The flight is only a couple hours, and I'll be there for three days.

Depending on the airline....they won't let you fly after 37 weeks. Check with the airline...and if they do let you fly you have to have a letter from your doc stating that you are in good condition. You can always find the info on the airlines website.

Secondly--why not get married after graduation and go with him while he is in training??

I'm honestly not sure if you'll be able to make the trip   I went on a plane during the "advised time" to go and it kicked my ass! they say you shouldn't fly after I belive 28 weeks. but I would speak with your doctor and see what he/she says about it. never hurts to try.

well, most airlines won't let you fly past 35 weeks, but I flew to Arizona when I was 30 weeks and nobody asked me how far long I was, just be prepared to get through some red tape if you go into early labor and deliver at your destination.

Don't drive. Sitting for long periods of time is bad for your BP in late pregnancy. I got reprimanded for driving 5 hours at 36 weeks.

Yea b/c the pressure from the flying can throw a woman into labor! Third trimester is off limits!

Yeah--I'D fly!!! Driving that long, by yourself, is hard. Not to mention you would have to stop every few hours to walk around and get you blood moving. Staying stationary that long leaves you prone to DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis akablood clots) which can cause problems. Even if you fly--it is advisable you get up and walk around once or twice to help prevent DVT's too. Good luck.

Taken from the US Air webpage:

Traveling during pregnancy
Any person who is pregnant and expecting delivery within 7 days may not fly unless the passenger provides a doctor's certificate dated within 72 hours of departure stating that the doctor has examined and found the passenger to be physically fit for air transportation.
