Should I tell them?

I have a job interview today at Wal-Mart's photo center and I was wonering if I should tell them about me being pregnant? The only reason I'm debating it is because even though people aren't supposed to discriminate against pregnant women, they usually do anyway, and I really need this job to save up for this baby.

*Edit: Last time I had an interview it went really well, but when I told the manager I was pregnant, his whole attitude toward me changed.*

No one besides family notices. I'm pretty small.

I wouldnt say a thing.

I'd probably tell them because, if they're going to treat you differently, they'll do it whenever you tell them. If you wait to tell them, they may view you as deceptive, and they'll probably look for other reasons to fire you.

do not tell them unless they specifically ask if you are or not. because unless it will interfere with your work performance duties in the photo center.. i do not believe there is any legal reason for you to inform them of this ahead of time. you arent due until november so that is plenty of time for you to be there and have a steady job and get maternity leave and all that.

i just got fired from walmart saturday and im looking to apply for a new job - but i do not feel like i have a choice but to tell anywhere i apply that i will need maternity leave in 1 months time!! it sucks being fired during the 8th month. what a bitch.

Well , I'd do the interview etc and tell them as soon as you can if you get the job , they do have a right to know and cannot let you go because you are pregnant.

Legally they can't ask you, so legally you don't HAVE to tell them. I say don't tell them.

I don't know. I would tell only b/c that could be grounds for firing you later on. On most job applications they ask if you have any medical conditions or anything that could interfear with your job. If you say no and then in a few months need to take time off for an appointment or can't lift the heavy boxes - they can come back and say that you were not truthful in your application.

Thanks ladies, I think what I will do is keep it quiet during the interview. If I do by chance get the job, I'll do a kickass job as an employee for a few weeks and let them know afterward because they have seen firsthand that I won't let my pregnancy affect the quality of work I do.

I applied online... it didn't ask anything like that. Just about taxes and if I was a criminal. That's about as personal as it got.

I would tell them,
Only; cause wat if u fall over or hurt urself and they didnt know u were pregnant, than wats ganna happen huh??

hey heres my whole thing.. if they dont ask... dont tell!! because once u are hired they cant fire u jus cause they found out u were preggers, cuz then that would be discrimination.. n u could still get paid off of them.. unemployement..
