Quoting Mel. Kaidyn's Mummy:“ my son has a red birth mark(think they are called strawberries)on his face on his forehead just below his hair line, i dont care about it, it makes him who he is and it makes him different”
Quoting Lindsay Lux:“ your son's birthmark is very small. My Dad covers practically the whole of his right cheek. I love it ... [snip!] ... head and her bum but they both went away after a few months I think (well I don't know how long exactly) but they are gone now.”
Quoting NonsenseMom:“ Birth marks are not hereditary. Port wine stains and strawberry marks occur in about 3/1000 births (these are the 2 that are red/purple, can be large and raised.)”
Quoting Hunter's Mummy:“ My grandfather, my mother, her sister and me all have the same birthmark in the same spot and the same shape... I beg to differ. LOL”
Quoting Lindsay Lux:“ interesting and I've heard of stories similar to this before. but since none of my brothers or sisters ... [snip!] ... much of a chance. I mean if everyone had the same birthmarks as their parents then they'd be a lot more common then they are.”
Quoting Hunter's Mummy:“ My grandfather, my mother, her sister and me all have the same birthmark in the same spot and the same shape... I beg to differ. LOL”
Quoting Lindsay Lux:“ I've been wanting to post a topic about this subject for quite a while now but afraid it might be a big ... [snip!] ... but other people can be cruel and make life hard. I'm not sure if birthmarks are passed down, I just want to see him already!”Its not common so don't worry. Even though my birth mark is the size of a half-dollar, on my right temple, my birthmark is green. My aunt told me that it's a collard green (my fav food ). My aunt has noticed every birthmark on her kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews. And we all have some type of food... [steak, fish, collard green, strawberry, etc..] Some told me it's a Mongolian Birthmark but I was informed they only show up on lower backs and "buttocks". But it's been my unique trademark. If your child does have a birthmark like your dad.. explain it and inform them that it makes them unique. It will hurt to get picked on, but they will realize that that makes them who they are.
Quoting NonsenseMom:“ is location/shape of birthmarks is hereditary? In general the answer to this question is also negative: ... [snip!] ... birthmark and compare it with your family, I will bet that you will find subtle but significant differences between them. ”
Quoting Hunter's Mummy:“ My grandfather, my mother, her sister and me all have the same birthmark in the same spot and the same shape... I beg to differ. LOL”
