IUD and BFing.

how many of you have the IUD and breastfeed? I told my doctor at my last appointment that I wanted mirena, but I just realized that since I BF i might not be able to get it!

I had it for a year and breast feed for 18 mos with no problems.

im bf'ing also....and im going to get it. BUT i wonder....does it hurt to get it put in??? Thats what I'm scared of. Lol. I'm SO scared of pain, yet i had a drug free labour...imagine that

It doesn't hurt at all to get put in. Some doctors even numb your cervix like mine did. The shots don't hurt either.

have you thought about the paragard instead?..it has no hormones...i can't use them..but it is also good for 10 years instead of 5.
