ttc, finishing b/c, no period?

Hey ladies...

I have a question. I've been on b/c for a while now (the pill) and stopped taking it middle of last month. Since I had my baby (9 months ago) af hasn't really visited me. Instead of 28 days, I stayed at 30 days, getting my period on the 25th every month... it only lasted about 3 days and wasn't really heavy...

Heres my thing...

We are ttc baby number 2. We want them close in age like my brothers and I are. I got my period on May 25th. I haven't had it since. I've been really sick, dizzy, lightheaded, really really tired, even sore nipples... sounds like I'm pregnant... but I keep getting a bfn! I haven't really been stressed out lately... just normal.

Has anyone had this happen after they went off their b/c? How long did it take to get ..."normal"? I'm sick of being sick at night, I keep telling myself its all in my head but I'm not getting better  

Any tips?

When I went off of my birth control it took at least 3 months before my cycle was normal again. It's different for everyone though. I would give it a week and take another test or go get a blood test. Good luck!

Good luck, sounds like ur prego to me. Maybe you should wait a little longer before you test, and you'll get your BFP!

I got off BC in September, since then only had 3 periods. One in September, one in Feb. and one on May. And my doctor said it could take anywhere from 18-24 months to be totally regulated again. So good luck. After all my dr's appointments and him saying all my blood tests and paps were totally normal, I Just have to "relax"

My husband seemed so upset when we got a negative. He had this huge smile on his face, then I told him and he got a really sad look on his face...

I hope it turns out to be a positive... my doc said it would probably take a month or two (at least) to get regular, but I was never told I could or would feel pregnant lol

Ugh, I've been off for 4 cycles now and not one of them has been the same....38-30 days, I'm still waiting for 'regular' I hope you've got a BFP and not a lazy AF who is going to come knocking 10 days from now or something lame like that!

My cycles took over a year to get back to normal. I would have 2, skip 2, have one, skip 2...talk about a lot of false hopes.

I'm so glad to hear this. Not for you obviously, but I have been really worried that my cycles being this off was something horribly wrong and didn't believe my dr when he said that it would just take time. So you have given me hope!

I had a hard time believing my doctor too...I just KNEW that it couldn't be normal and that I surely had something wrong. But, after 12 months it did regulate back out and I was very "normal" for the next 12 months until I finally got pregnant.

Now I'm worried about what kind of b/c to use afterI have the baby. If it takes another 2 years after I go off of something again...yuk. I'm a planner LOL

I got off BCP in Feb. Af came in beb, but not then again untilApril. Everyone is different though. I hope you get your BFP!!!

I had a friend who was off BCP for all of a week before getting pregnant. She was completely shocked but her doctor said that it is possible to get lucky! Hopefully you get your BFP!

You really have no idea the kind of peace I've had the past few days since reading this particular thread. I had posted a couple times before and never really got a reply. And if I did someone was saying it sounded like something was really wrong with me. But this post has helped me so much. You guys are backing up what my doctor has been saying for the last 6 months. lol. And I'm confident now that eventually AF will come visit me regularly and I'll be sick of her like I was before. Cause right now I never wanted to bleed so bad. haha!

I'm in the same boat  

I'm glad to know others are kind of going through what I'm going through. I also tried to post elsewhere but all I got was drama, I wasn't that happy, it wasn't helping me.

So here's another question... I've been having a lot of discharge lately (past week or so) I looked up a fertility calander for my "regular" cycle and it said that I should be fertile the 3rd thru 8th... Can that really be? I still haven't had my period... can I still be fertile and ovulate? Can you ovulate twice a month?

My doctor never seems to be available for non emergencies so I can't ask him anymore questions. Jerk.

I've had the same thing going on, it happens a lot but then nothing. But the past two days I've had a slight pain in my ovaries so I'm crossing my fingers that I'm Ovulating and soon AF will be at my door. Because that means the time between my cycles is getting smaller and on it's way back on track. Trying not to get ahead of myself though...we'll see

Damn doctors! They make so much money- yet are never around when needed.... hmm.. ..

I honestly have no other advice for you!! The TTC girls are very friendly- just dont make a post asking if you're pregnant!
