maternity leave from school...

for those of you that had your baby while you were still in school, how long did you get off for maternity leave? Is it up to the doctor, counseler or yourself to decide how long you want off?

I was in high school and it was up to me... i only took off a week tho...

Well, college is understandable. I've decided to take the next year off for baby.

there isa guidance person at your school who can help you get onto homebound classes, until the doctor says you can go back to school. I had to do this when I got sick in highschool.

I don't think highschoolers should get pregnant and shouldn't be rewarded by missing school. You don't get paid for it so you shouldn't get time off

How is it a reward when you are giving birth?? Not only that but the time you take off you have to make up... its ANYTHING BUT a vacation...

oh yeah, homebound is when a teacher brings over the work that all of your teachers has assigned. And then grades it and turns it in...You do all of the smae work... just from home...and only while you are medically unable to attend school.

you shouldn't be pregnant so therefore shouldn't get a vacation. my sister didn't take time off. she just stayed out as long as medically necessary
