Weight and miscarriages..

posted 1st Jul
Is there any relation to being overweight and the higher the instance of miscarriages? I am not sure if both are related in any form or the other. I have about 30 lbs to lose but I am not sure if my m/cs have anything to do with my weight gain after my first child.

i dont think so... there are more complications during pregnancies for overweight women but i have NEVER been small and all my pregnancies have been healthy. Most miscarriages have NOTHING to do witht he mother, and if a woman takes care of herself she can cut her complications a lot...

Those are the first three articles I found when I Googled "obesity and miscarriage". I could stand to lose quite a bit myself, so I'm pretty interested in the subject, too. I'd say, from the articles that I found and from just common sense, that yes--You're weight could play a part in miscarriages. Of course, like anything else, everyone is different, so they'll have different experiences. I would suggest doing a little of research on your own and asking your doctor.

I think it can affect your chances of getting pregnant, but I don't think it has any affect on the pregnancy itself...
