Long night...into long day

posted 1st Jul
So Sunday afternoon, I noticed that my 5 yr old daughter's eye was a little pink and red in the corner and it was a little swollen (smaller in size too). I looked at it and immediately thought, "oh no..pink eye!"...I did some research and heard that breast milk helps pink eye...so I started droppin it in her eye through the day...well I noticed on Sunday that there was green discharge and it was thick and disgusting. I decided I would wait till Monday to call the dr. Monday came and I actually had a dr. appt for my son and asked his dr about it and he said if the drainage stopped (which it did) to not worry about it...so I said ok...btw her eye was clearing up fine with the breastmilk drops   haha....so last night I put her to bed and she was fine untill about 10:30pm she runs in my room crying holding her ear and it scared me cause she never really cries like that. She said, "mommy my ear hurts bad"..I check it out in case she just slept on it wrong, scratched it or something, but she says it hurts inside...so I freak...of course ..who wants to see your little child in so much pain. She is crying so bad and I am like ..."great, the pink eye spread or something..so my hubby and I decide to research a little, called the advice nurse but no answer there...we end up deciding to take her into the ER because at that point, none of us were going to sleep anyway. On the way she throws up in the car all over everything!! I let my hubby take her because my son has a little fever and is fussy because he got his shots...and I don't want to get him sick with pink eye on top of it...I am worrying till 3am they get home prescriptions and all and she has a bacterial infection which spread. They told us its highly contagious so I have my poor lil girl in her room away from us watching movies... Now its been all day and its close to 2pm and she is getting ansy! I go in there feed her, giver her medicine clean and disinfect then I go wash my hands and even take a shower if needed.I mean I was a neat freak before so now I am out of this world! I just do not want me or the baby to get it..my hubby is at work..poor guy up all night and we were up at 7am...of course I was up a few more times feeding the baby!Geez..if its not one thing its another it seems.. Hopefully my son doesn't get too cranky from those shots!

I guess just be thankful she doesn't have measles huh? God, I dread that day when I have to see my baby in pain from something like that and i couldn't imaginge having to keep her in the dark too.
how old is your little boy? I bet ur girl loves helping with him, she's at that age when all they want to do is everything helpful! I'm on my first, but I helped my sister raise her 3 kids.
How is it with her being the older one? I know its still early to tell how it'll be years from now but I'll be in the same situation one day and I know my babes had really wished for the boy first, but he's happy still.

Aw man, what a night!
Poor baby. It is seriously heartbreaking to see your child sick.
I really hope she gets better soon and pray she doesn't pass it to Jaylen!
Oh and poor, poor James I bet he is beat!

Gawshhh! I think that seeing your babies in pain is the worse feeling ever because you can't just magically take it away fast!Sometimes you don't know what exactly is wrong. My little boy is going to be 5 months on Friday. She is the absolute greatest little helper that I could ever ask for. She loves her little brother...there are times though when she is too busy playing that she won't wanna help   which is understandable..I dont force her..its not her job, ya know? I see these moms out there who basically have their oldest raising the younger ones...they don't get to be a child.

yess...James is like, " I am coming home straight to bed" haha.. I am soo scared that one of us will get it....the dr said its sooo contagious but I was researching that after 24 hours after giving her the first dose of antibiotics that she is able to go to public places so its not that contagious anymore.....I am still not chancing it...but at least she can maybe leave her room more often.
