Ok, so I have GD and have been able to control it so far with diet alone. Today the Dr went over the whole Your baby might be big, lawsuit for broken shoulders, stuck in birth canal, maybe c-section, etc......talk.

I'm really hoping to avoid a c-section. Is it always a given that your baby will be big and that you must have a c-section when you have GD?

I have "borderline" GD but havent started the diet yet. Everyone has told me I will be induced but nothing about a c section. I will watch this post!

I posted a similar question like this under the post partum issues cause I was curios myself. I have GD and my doc also told me depending on the baby size I could have a c section. I than heard from some people at the clinic I go to a lot of GD moms go into early labor naturally. I noticed that on my topic a few of the GD moms did in fact have their babies at 37 weeks with no c sections.

I have GD and they started me on insulin. It is a very low dose and in my opinion I could have managed it with Diet but they wanted me to have the insulin at nightime because it was my fasting bs that was high. Anyways I having a c seection but i dont think its neccesary to have one for all women with GD I think they just like you to be aware of the complicatoins. Either way goodluck to you !

I had GD with my second born. I am not good at diets so I didn't pretty bad. I was having a c section anyways because her and my oldest are pretty close. She was only 8lbs 5oz which I have heard girls do a vag delivery with like 9 or 10 pound babies!!

and I had her 2 weeks late..well one week past due date...2 weeks past delivery date!!

I had GD and had to have an emergency c-section b/c we couldnt find her heartbeat. But she was only 6 pounds 11 ounces at 39w3d. i was a good dieter lol. i only gained 18 pounds though. but i hated every second of not getting to eat what i wanted!! ughhhh it sucked. and here i am on round two! i have to take my glucose test at my 12 week appt. i better pass this time!

Im so afraid. I have 2 go take my 3 hour test to determine wether or not it's for sure. Im afraid becuz I just want my baby 2 be ok. I knew I would probably have a chance of having it becuz, well to me, I just gained weight too fast. Im 30 weeks and I started out 132lbs and im now 180lbs. I just want the delivery to go well and for my son to be ok.
