Once they reach 20 lb they can be in a convertible carseat. Brycen has a 'big boy' carseat now. Get one of the carseats that can go from little baby to 100 lb and face forward or back.

For a car seat you really want to look at the hight. The higher the weight the higher the hight goes (most of the time). Children are going to out grew in hight before weight.

Here is also a list of car seats in different price ranges that have a good high rear facing limit and also are a nice high weight and harness height so they will hold children to age 5-7 years old. About the age a booster used at if the child is ready for the booster.

I have an Evenflo Triumph Advance and love it. Very easy to install and very easy to use. I also love that I don’t need to rethread it to move the harness up or down.

i was looking at the ones that go up to 100 pounds but connor really can't sit up straight all that well, and the one im looking at seems to have alot more padding and is side impact tested( i don't plan on being in a reck) but it seems better suited for him

The AOE isn't usually recommended because it has low top harness slots and is outgrown quite early. Also the very top harness positiion can only be used in the booster mode and the seat only harness' to 40lbs. Often by the time this seat is outgrown (usually by height) the child isn't ready for a booster seat yet so then another harnessed seat would be required. This seat also doesn't make the best booster seat, it is ok but not great and likely will not be the only booster that you need. There are several other seats that would work and last longer then this seat.

I had a ford focus and it fit good in that car in the middle and I could fit a small person next to it. I could if needed get my Graco safe seat in next to it. Are you not going to be using an infant seat for the baby. if you are using on and wont need this seat for a little bit then I would hold off. Car seats or have a life of 6 years so if you buy it now and not use it for a year then your going to waste a year of its life.

Also they are always coming out with new seats so they may have better ones when you baby is old enough to need it.
