All 4th of july mommies

posted 1st Jul
My parents live like a little more then a hour away from the hostipal. And I don't know if I want to go there. Living in the middle of the city there isn't anything u can do here. And I would love to bbq and stuff. So my question is who of you are still planning on going some where big for 4th of july even though its our due date. And there is a huge chance that it isn't going to happen that day. But what if it does. Do you think its ok to venture alittle further out on your due date. It would be a hour drive virses like a five min drive if I stayied home.

I don't think an hour drive is that bad. Just keep an eye on yourself and if you start feeling contractions it's probably time to leave.

That's what I was going to say. I wouldn't wait as long as other mommies do IF you do start contracting. Just to be on the safe side.

I am 38 wks and walked 3 miles at an air show the other day and started to have contractions. Walking a long time might do it. It isn't fun but it may work. Plus I had a friend who sat on the toilet and pushed on her tummy and two days later the baby was out. I am not going to do that. I think it would hurt, but it worked for her.

About leaving an hour away, just make a plan a route home and a plan b route home. I was born and raised in Texas and know how sometimes the traffic can be bad in a city, but I would go and have fun but just have a plan and a back up plan. Better to be safe than sorry.
