toddler bed?

posted 1st Jul
I was just wondering when everyone switched their kids to a toddler bed from a crib? My little one is 18 months old, and I put my oldest in a toddler bed at that age... but she wanted a big girl bed. Aurora needs to get into a toddler bed before her new little brother is born, bc daddy decided that we didn't need to buy a new crib... in a way want to wait, but i feel like if I wait it might be too much for her at once, bc I want to start potty training her and then there is going to be a new baby and a new bed, that seems like a lot for a little kid to handle at once.. so I don't know suggestions/opinions would be appreciated!! thank you!

My oldest went straight from crib to regular bed at two. My youngest is 2 years and 2 months and we just finished collecting stuff for his big boy bed and I expect him to be in it by this weekend.

my daughter is 16months and sleeps in a toddler bed next to my bed. I made a horrible mistake and let her use mine, so to get her out, I set up the big girl bed, put it next to mine, and every night she cuddles up, however, I still refuse to move it from there to her sisters room until she is a little older.
I bought her a potty and she comes in with me all the time, sits down, wipes, and redresses - minus peeing!! But I'm not pushing that issue only because, when my mother was preg. with my little bro she rushed me into underwear and I did great, then he was born, he wore diapers and I wanted them too.. So she ended up having to wait a few months and start all over again with the potty training..
So my opinion is move her when she is ready. Use a bassinett for the baby if she isn't ready right away. And maybeset up the toddler bed, and tell her when she is ready its her big girl bed.. she might love cuddling up in it and want to make the move!!!
