If you have a baby walker

posted 30th Jun
I was wondering if any of you thet have walkers could tell me if the wheels are hard plastic or a hard rubber material.I was talking to DH and he was wondering if we could get one that has rubber type wheels since we just put in a new laminate floor. The floor started to scratch from the computer chair rolling around so it would probably scratch from a walker.

My wheels are plastic. Don't know if they will scratch laminate. Very good question though.

Good question. I hope that there are ones with the rubber wheels. I hate the sound of plastic ones on tiles. I just haven't looked around yet.

Wow..
We use them ONLY on the first floor for the reason that they may tumble down the stairs.
But the fact that the walker delays the child to walk on their own, I have never heard that. Both my boys were in walkers and started walking by themselves at 11 months.

why would you let your baby be near stairs in the walker in the first place???

that is crazy. I love our walker . Hell my first son prolly would have walked later with out it lol

i dont know...thats just what we're told. I used one when i was little, and i turned out fine. my brother and his g/f just had a baby in february and theyre trying to get someone to bring them one back from the states. They said everyone in their parenting groups they go to have them...its just that you gotta figure out how to get them back.

Funny story,

When I was about 8 months old my mom sent my dad to the consumer reports store to buy me a walker. (this was in 1982) Well he grabs the box, pays for it and figures it feels pretty heavy for a walker, but thinks nothing more of it. He gets home and opens the box to put it together....and discovers, its not ONE walker, but something like 28(some large number)walkers. Ahhahaahaha. So I guess everyone with a kid in our neighbourhood got a free walker.

i know they say that walkers and exersaucers can delay them walking and it makes them walk and stand on their tippy toes, i guess its to do with the way there in the walker..my health care vistor pointed it out when she came round for our check up my lil one is always on her tip toes too so i guess it has some truth to it.
