Selling online

Ok I've never done anything like this before so I need information please.

I'm thinking of selling some of my clothes. I had originally thought about having a yard sale but since it'd pretty much be just clothes I don't think it'd go over to well. Unless I could get my sister involved, she has plenty of stuff of her daughter's that could be sold. But of my stuff it's pretty much just clothes. I have a few other things, like a 6 CD changer stereo and 2 clarinets and maybe a few other random things. But pretty much just clothes.

So for the ladies that's done this before I need all the advice you can give me about selling online. Is paypal the best method of payment? What's your success rate with it? Who should pay for shipping? And taking that into account what would be reasonable prices? I can give you more info about the clothes, although I haven't really gone through it yet to see what I want to part with. I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna sell my maternity clothes, I'm waiting to find out for sure if my cousin is pregnant.

I had some other questions but now I can't remember them. Um... any info about paypal would be helpful too since I've never used it. I think I'll mainly try to sell on here since I pretty much trust all of you.

Since I haven't gone through the clothes yet the only info I can give about them is that most of it's gently worn, in good condition and sizes range from 11 to maybe 17 I think. And shirts are mostly large and xlarge. I might have some shoes too. I also have a graduation gown (not sure if the cap is with it) and 3 dresses - two I wore to prom and one in a wedding. One of the prom dresses was worn twice because it was my sisters as well. But it's still in good condition. I'll have to check the sizes on those. I'm not sure when I'll really be able to get on the ball with selling this stuff but hopefully I'll be able to do it within the next couple of weeks. Any help would be much appreciated.

I love selling my stuff on ebay. Paypal is all I'll accept. Make sure you get payment before you send. Some people won't pay. The buyer pays shipping. I bought a scale so I could accuratly weigh everything. Go to the usps website and they'll give you the shipping prices. It might vary depending on where the buyer lives so list the shipping as the highest one, just to be safe. Take good pictures and measure everything.

Get your accounts now. It takes a while for a new paypal account to activate. If you want, the best thing to do is to buy a few things on ebay first, that way you can build up your feedback a little. You don't have to, but some buyers are wary of buying from first time sellers.

take the selling tuturial(sp) on ebay. it will explain everything for you. but beware...once you get it down its very addicting!!! haha
