I Pod Help

So I bought/recieved an I Pod from a friend, my boyfriend already has one that we use with this computer. I am curious to know how to use one computer and both IPods? Do I just have to turn off the automatic sync? Will the computer be able to read both IPods? I'm okay with having all of the same music, they are both 80G so we have tons of space. Another question, is there anyway to get the music off of this IPod and onto my computer? There are a few songs I would like to add to my collection! I'm asking before I plug it in because I don't want the thing to sync up and automatically have the same music as Tyler's IPod. Thanks in advance!

You have to turn the automatic sync off unless you want them both to have the same music as is on your i-tunes. As for getting songs off of his I don't think there's a way to do it unless they are on the computer. I tried with my hubby's when I got a new computer and the songs wouldn't go from his ipod to the computer.

Okay thats what I thought on the auto sync! I know there is some way to get music from the Ipod to the computer, but I know that its hard and complicated and the kind of thing apple doesn't want you doing(because its a total pain in the ass) I just don't remember how we figured it out! We had to do it when we got the new computer!
