re: Baby Detergent?

posted 30th Jun
I'm going to use Dreft. My Mom insisted that I use baby detergent. On most things she'll tell me "that's a waste of money" but for some reason she made a big deal about the baby detergent. Maybe she just likes the way it smells

But I plan on using it. Atleast until I go through this first bottle she bought me...

I am using the same for the baby as for the whole family simply because I have a front loader and it has to be HE detergent and I don't know if they makeDreft for HE washers.

I learned the hard way about not using a HE detergent!!!! Regular makes too many bubbles and they were everywhere and I had to rinse/spin twice to get the soap out!

I use any free & clear detergent (usually what's cheapest). My daughter has eczema, so I have to be careful what I use on her. She even has to use her own bibs at daycare because whatever they use to wash theirs (I think it's the bleach) causes her to break out around her neck hardcore.

I use Dreft for Kelly... she has super sensitive skin. Also I don't use fabric softener on her clothes either. She's allergic to it. Matter of fact anyone that holds her cannot have used fabric sheets on their clothes. They have a "wax" in them that "coats" the clothing in the dryer and it irritates her. I am able to use fabric softener on our clothes as long as its the liquid since most of it gets rinsed out in the rinse cycle of the wash.

Yeah the Dreft is expensive. However, it lasts me about a month because Kelly's clothes and blankies are the only thing it gets used on.

My advise for you, though would to maybe get a small bottle or sample size (you can get it a laundr-o-mat if not in the store)of the baby detergent and do a load in that and a load in your regular stuff. Then watch to see if the regular stuff bothers your baby or not. If it does, you have a "back-up" of clothing done in the baby stuff. Good Luck and Congrats!

you might wanna try using a baby detergent first, and then once your baby is born wash an outfit in regular detergent and see if there's any reaction. my daughter has sensitive skin so we stick to dreft.

I used baby detergent for both of my kids and planning to on this baby too, just ecause they say babies have sensitive skin to some detergents. I used to buy dreft till I started using the baby all it does smell soo good!!
