Hey girls! So I have decided to try and breastfeed, I've read that I should be preparing my nipples for my little guy, hardening them up! My nipples are so so senstive right now I hate for them to be touched!

I'm just curious to see if rubbing on your nipples to prepare for breastfeeding helped?

i didn't. No matter what your nipples will be sore at first. It isn't really the rubbing you have to worry about, what makes them sore is the moisture and SUCKING lol. But it only hurts a little

I never rubbed mine and BFing dosn't hurt me, he latches on great  
sometimes they do get a little sore, but only when he wants to eat all day lol

I asked about that before I had my first and my ob told me it is actually not recommended because it did not show any advantages.

I scrub mine with a toothbrush medium bristles. Its gotten a lot easier, at first it was soo hard, but now im good, i do leak more though... but hey...
My cousins been doing the same thing.. she said it doesnt hurt AT ALL for her to breast feed.. she was shocked cause she thought it would be bad, but she said its nothing.. just a little tugging. (and she has lost ALL of her baby gain, and is back to her pre preg weight and is only 1 wk pp....) DAMN... lol

i didn't. your baby will toughen them up for you in no time. it'll hurt like hell, but if you stick with it it WILL get better. mine were cracked and bloody for a week and then i was fine.
