Why is my Supervisor being a BITCH?! (Vent)

posted 30th Jun
OK so...where I work...I work for a divison of Fedex. The division I work in is logistics. What do is handle transportation of parts for General Motors. Usually, we're really busy, especially on a Monday. But (and I'm not too sure how many people know this) GM goes down for two weeks every year. Shut down is usually the first two weeks of July, depending on the calender. Well, today marks the first day of GM shut down. Of course when GM is shutdown, we're not moving anything for them unless it's something special they want done and it's usually not a lot. So we're basically sitting her twiddling our thumbs, lol...getting paid to do that is fine to me. I'm not opposed to making damn near $20 an hour to sit here and surf the net and BS on BG!

So my supervisor...she is being such a bitch. Last Tuesday, my back started killing me at work and I asked to go home and she wouldn't let me leave. At the time, I had about 2 1/2 left, so I said fuck it. Her thing was well if you didn't want to come to work you shouldn't have come at all. She didn't even ask me WHY I wanted to leave. I felt fine when I had come in that day but my back really started to hurt. So I was pissed...and I called off and didn't come back to work until yesterday.

So today, she walks by my desk and says, "Hey Tashara" with serious attitude...I didn't trip...I just said, "Hey". So she walked past me again just a bit ago and I had taken off my glasses and was rubbing my temples. I guess she also saw that I had my heating pad out and pressed up against my back. She then she says, "Why didn't you just stay at home - AGAIN!"

WTF? Why the fuck are you being such a bitch? I didn't stay at home today because well...quite frankly, why should I? I'm getting paid to do nothing here!

I used to have a supervisor like that back when I was pregnant with my son and it actually got to the point where I had to go to upper management to get to the root of the problem. Some supervisors (and I've noticed most of the time its women) have issues with pregnant women and thinking that we use the excuse of our pregnancy to get out of work, which is never the case. I'm pregnant with my daughter and due at any time and both my supervisors (both male) have been nothing but accomidating and always making sure if I'm alright and if I'm not just go home, no yelling or such as your supervisor (who seems to have a real chip on her shoulder) has done toward you. I would say if her behavior doesn't change I would go to upper management or your personel and file a complaint.

I feel ya. My manager told me that she would let me go home early last Friday for all the extra work I did this month (we were short one CSR for the month because she went to take care of her mom after a total knee replacement, and my manager was also out for a week and a half because of her MIL's death). I didn't ask to go home early or anything...she offered it. Well, another one of the CSR's called in sick, and my manager told me Friday morning that she still wanted to let me go home early, but it'd probably be closer to 2:00 or 3:00 (she had previously said I could go home at lunchtime). 3:00 rolls around, and I was still at work, and she hadn't said ONE WORD to me the entire afternoon about whether or not I'd be able to leave early. I didn't really see her after 3:00, and when I finally got out at 5:00, her car was gone! The bitch had left me here for the whole day and left early herself!!   Don't get me wrong...it's not like she owed me that time off or anything, and I was grateful that she was going to let me leave early, but I had made plans to meet up with my mom for dinner, and since I didn't get out early, we were both starving by the time we got to the restaurant, and she had been sitting around for over two hours waiting for me. If my manager didn't know for 100% sure that she was going to be able to let me leave early, she shouldn't have said anything!

Meh, I'm finding a new job anyway...I make shit money, and I'm never going to be able to move out of my parents' house until I get some more money!
