weekend from hell

Was meant to be having a lovely romantic weekend away with my husband but well lets just say it turned into a complete nightmare. My mil and sil and her husband where meant to be looking after all our kids as arranged by my hubby but friday night they ring and tell us that they can't really look after our 2 youngest as they think it's going to be to hard.Hello you are 3 adults and they are 2 young children.So i am sooooo peeved by this point they then say they will still look after my son but then again he is 11 so not really going to have to look after him.
My hubby says yeah thats ok we will take the youngest 2 with us.Thought this was meant to be a romantic weekend away yeah loads of romance going to go on with 2 young babies in our room.
So saturday mornin set of for my romantic weekend got a 6hr drive to get to our destination such fun with 2 children.I love my kids but wanted a break with just me and my hubby.Get to our destination my hubby has taken me to scotland what a beautiful country.Staying in a lovely hotel but now have to arrange for them to put a cot in to the hotel room by the time we have got there kids are all ratty i'm still kind of pissed off about having to bring the kids as we never get time to ourselfs. so by the time i got the kids fed and settled all i want to do is go sleep and yeah my hubby wants some but so not in the mood.So he gets peeved off with me i know he went to alot of trouble by planning this trip but i guess it didn't turn out the way i wanted guess i was being a bit of a spoilt brat.Anyways get up the next mornin try and have a good day go and look around scotland and but also worrying about the journey back. i guess i kind of feel bad as this should of been a good weekend away but instead both me and hubby were ratty with hubby kept having little arguements in some ways just wish i had stayed at home.I'm still really peeved with his family i don't understand the big issue of looking after my girls i just needed to rant thatnks for reading if you did i know it's long

wow! im sure u had been planning the trip for a while! That was pretty much rude of them to change their minds like that all of a sudden! id be pissed too. My advice to u is to never ask them to watch them anymore! how hard could that have really been for them, and im sure ur oldest would have helped out as well! sorry that u didnt get to have ur romantic wknd the way u wanted!  

i dont think u acted like a spoiled brat. i would be really mad too. having kids in the room isnt very romantic.

i didn't plan it my hubby planned it all as a suprise and arranged for his mom and sis and that to look after kids then told me thurs i think it was so i was really excited about it then it just all went to pot.i'm just so mad at his mom and sis as we help them all the time at the moment ther driving round in our 7 seater while i'm having to put my kids in our other car.i guess i'm just super frustrated at the mo and seriously peeved

no romance happened that weekend and won't be for a while my huuby can't understand why i'm so mad with his mom

i tottaly understand! Some of my in-laws are always asking for help with things, and they never return favors!

at the mo i'm so mad with them i just want to ask for our car back but my hubbys like no you can't do that. i just don't understand what was so hard about looking after them i didn't even really talk to them when i went to pick my son up they just frustrate me so much i could scream right now all i wanted was a little break so i could have some me time. i wish my hubby had asked my parents instead

Well, why didn't he ask your parents instead? I would be pretty peeved too if my in laws would have changed their mind too. I dont think you were acting like a spoiled brat,...at all.

My husband and I have a planned trip to Edleweiss, it's a lodge and resort here in Germany. We have gone there before but it didn't turn out good, because we didn't get out and really see any sights, we pretty much stayed within the area of the resort. Plus we argued a lot, it was a mess. But we plan on going again in December, we already have our reservations. This time, I doubt it'll be MUCH better cause his mom is joining us.   I mean, I love my MIL butI would love for it to be just me and my hubby only. But then again, I understand that my hubby just wants to show his mom around,......Hm....

my parents live 150 miles away plus both of my parents work so i doubt they would have been able to do it .although i will ask them next time if there is a next time. i just think they was out of order by saying yes then changing there minds.at the end of the day there was 3 adults and 2 children to look after my son can do everything for himself so he is easy to look after and my daughters are cool as long as you stick with the routine but they won't be given the chance again

Wow Scottland! I would enjoy every moment of that. I would have taken the older child also so that you had help with the younger two. Why did his family decide to play favorites? That sucks. But on the bright side you got to got to Scotland! So jealous.

yeah the drive up to scotland was wonderful it is such a beautiful country i have never seen countryside that wonderful but damn i hve also never seen weather like i did there one minute sunny next minute chucking it down with rain. i don't think they was playing favourites they just didn't want the burden of 2 babies my son can look after himself so they wouldn't have to do anything for him. plus he want to stay at his grandmas as she has a pool and i guess being in a hotel room wasn't his idea of fun wasn't reallly mine but when you got young kids you got to stick to routine
