alrighty then

so FINALLY 3 months late my AF shows up... now im full of questions.... i started taking my vitex about 3 weeks ago, 2 tablets a day one in the morning/afternoon (i wake up late) and one at night with dinner or if i forget i would take it around midnight when i'd remember.. anyways... i ran out about a week ago, then 3 days ago, like i said AF showed up.. im giving vitex part of the credit.. what i want to know is, is it because i stopped taking the vitex that my period finally came and is it one of those vitamins i take all month long or do i stop during my AF then start back up.. will af show up if i keep taking it? one lady answered me on yahoo and gave me a couple "recipes" wich included robitussen but also said for both to quit vitex for recipe 1 at around ovulation and recipe 2 when AF starts.... i dont know if they even sell robitussen in australia lol... anyways if anyone on her has taken vitex and knows if i should take it thoughout the month even during AF or quit around Ovulation please.. PLEASE help me lol...

I took it before when I got pregnant with my first and you're supposed to stop it after ovulation, if I remember right.

Lol, I ended up selling my bottle because I bought a huge one (100 pills) and I only used about 14 of them before I got preggo...I wish I'd kept that bottle now!

i wish they sold the huge bottles of vitex in aus, but ive only seen them in bottles of 40 pills and it says to take them 3 times a day i think it was.. 3 or 4.... and at 11 bucks a bottle.... that can get expensive....

im just worried that if i take the vitex up till ovulation, then as soon as i stop a few days later i'll start my period.. kinda like birth control.... but i dunno, this is my first month on it so i dont know what it does really lol... i just read that it helps people ovulate regularly, wich is something i do not do lol...

I think I paid $20 for my bottle and it was ridiculous! I spent like $100 (US) on different vitamins for myself and hubby that are supposed to make you more fertile or something and then we just gave them away.

The instructions on my bottle say to take 1 capsule daily. Each capsule has 500 mg of the chastetree berry stuff. Maybe you're taking too much? I don't think you should have your period after you stop it so don't worry too much about that! I think you probably just too much of it at a time and induced it that way.

i dont think i was taking too much honestly... the bottle says take 1 tablet 3 times daily or as prescribed, i took it 2 times daily so i was really taking one less than what the bottle suggested... 660 mg i believe is the dosage...

maybe it just helped kick start my period... who knows... either way im glad af is finally here lol
