baby cereal

Hi ladies i had a question about cereal when did u guys start giving or incorporating cereal into your babys meals?

My doc said I could at 4 months he was a lil piggy!

between 4-6 months unless your pedi advises earlier. Make sure you are feeding the cereal from a spoon though and not in the bottle.

4-6 months is the norm... some bigger babies the doc. may advise it earlier or for reflux... With my first child we started at 4 months on rice cereal as per the recommendation of our pediatrician...

5 months old, after he was showing all the signs of being ready for it. I swear he acted like I had been starving him his whole life when he got a taste of cereal for the first time!

At 3 mos (per pedi) she had all the signs of wanting food. She only ate cereal for a few days she hated it so we started veggies.

at 4 months when the ped gave the ok. Very runny the first time and then gradually made it thicker.

Elliot would not eat it w/out mixing it w/baby food so, we started orange foods very soon after cereal. We only gave it too him at dinner time because, primarily breast feeding was very important to me. I didn't start giving solids all day until he was closer to 9 or 10 months.

noah had cereal when he was 3 mo's cuz he's a chunk. lol he eats like everything now and he's 8 mo's old... my pedi gave me the ok. but i would have given noah it that early even if he didnt give me the ok.

Most pedis suggest 4-6 months. If you start on them too young then they can form an allergy. I started Lorelai on cereal at 5 months and then stage 1 baby food at 6 months.

4 to 6 months but it's always best to consult your pedi. when it comes to this. He/she will be able to tell when/if your baby is ready for solids.
