Anyone ever have this happen to them(TMI)

posted 28th Jun
I had my c-section on the 17th of this month. Now with my first c-section I stopped bleeding really early. As with this one, I thought I had stopped too. I haven't bled for 4 days and this afternoon when I was laying down and thought I had to pass some gas. When I pushed I felt a gush, I almost thought I peed myself. So I layed there for a minute and felt it again without pushing. I hurried up and jumped off the bed with my hand between my legs and sure enough there was blood everywhere. Like running out of me with a trail to the bathroom and all over the place. It has since slowed down, but good god. I was just wondering if this happened to anyone else? It really scared the crap out of me.

You should call the doctor ASAP. You aren't supposed to gush blood at anytime.

You think I should call even though it significantly slowed down?

Yeah. When I was pp (vaginal delivery) I was told to call if I soaked more than 1 pad in an hour or had a sudden gush. I am sure it would be the same for a c-section.

Dammit this makes me mad! Thanks for the advice, I feel stupid for being clueless!

it could be from an increase in your activity. if you have been more active in the lasat day or two, it can increase the amount of blood you expell.

How can I tell if my bleeding indicates there's a problem?

If bright red spotting reappears after your lochia (light bleeding) has already lightened, it's a sign that you need to slow down. If you continue to spot after resting in bed for a day call your midwife or doctor. You should also call if:
• Your lochia is still bright red four days after your baby's birth • Your lochia has a foul odor or you come down with fever or chills • You have abnormally heavy bleeding (saturating a sanitary pad in an hour or blood clots bigger than a golf ball). This is a sign of a late postpartum hemorrhage and requires immediate attention.

Call the doc.... they also told me if I was passing any clots bigger than golf balls to call right away.

Thank you for the info, I really appreciate it. Just when you think you have things figured out, you don't!

Thats funny, not really but...same thing happ to me the past few days. I was bragging that I can't believe the bleeding has almost stopped and i woke up yest. flooding! My stomach is now very sore to touch and hurts when i move around now. Crazy that it wasn't bothering me past few days. I called the dr and he said it was normal and i prob was on my feet too much. I said not really cuz my babygirl is on the boobie 24/7-lol! Did u ask about using tampons? I forgot to but the book i have says it's ok after 2 wks???

They told me nothing in there for at least 4 weeks. BARF! All these fun things that come along with pregnancy and kids that you really don't know about! Even after you have more than one! I am glad that I am not alone, although I don't wish this crap on anyone. Did you breast feed your other kids as well?

I tried with myson for about 2 wks but when i tried supp. with formula he wanted that and not the boobie. That was 9 yrs ago and it all feels brandnew to me. I had to give her a bottle last nite when i had enough. She was up till 4am screaming everytime i put her dwn. I tried to give her a few sips to see if thats what she needed and she guzzled it dwn. It was one of those 2oz hosp. bottles, i felt so bad cuz she was starving. I am still gonna let herBrFeed as much as she wants all day, but will try giving hera little formula at night.

I totally understand. I was all for b/f this time around since my son was in the NICU and I pumped for him. Then she decided to be like her brother and visit the NICU too. So she never had the chance to latch on. I pumped up until the a few days ago but I couldn't stand it anymore. Formula it is. My four year old drives me nuts all day, so it is the easy way out for me I guess.
