why does it make u sick??!!

i had the iud put in at my appt yesterday and they gave me antibiotics to take for a week so i dont an infection from it being put it, and i took the pills and they make me soo sick! its one of the side effects but i didnt think it would make me that sick..  

I've never heard of antibiotics making you sick....thats odd

Maybe the hormones from the IUD are making you feel bad, not the anti-biotics. Sometimes anti-biotics can make you nauseous, though. It depends on what kind of "sick" you are.

Try taking them with food.


Why did they give you antibiotics for an IUD? I got the Mirena put in and I wasn't given any antibiotics.

I have never heard of them putting anyone on antibiotics when an IUD is inserted either...

Thats what I am wondering

they do it so u dont get an infection from it being put in, becuz my body is just getting back to normal and now theres a new thing in there now.

like throwing up and diarreaha, it says on the paper they gave me that this is some of the side effects..
