How soon to work out PP?

posted 28th Jun
I've never been really in shape my whole life. Ever since becoming pregnant I'm much less active and get out of breath just going up the stairs. I really really want to join a gym but my friend who had her baby three weeks ago (I'm still waiting on mine) said you're supossed to wait six weeks before working out. Is that true? Is there a set time frame or do you just go by how your body feels. whats right to you? I really want to joint a gym while I'm still motivated too and start working out asap after he's here.

youre supposed to wait for the dr. to okay you at your 6 week pp visit. if you become too active you cn cause damag to your body while its healing. but walking is always ok. we used to just go to walmart and walk around for the hell of it. at your 6 week pp visit talk to your dr. about it.

I started at 7 weeks after getting the all's clear from the doctor. I started with cardio and light weights. Now I do cardio, strength training, and pilates. I am loving my results..

It depends how you feel. With my first I was hurtin' pretty bad for a few weeks and I didn't start for a while. After my second I felt great and started working out and doing Pilates about a week after I got home. You'll know what you can handle and when. Just don't try to push yourself. Do what's easy at first.

Thanks!   That's a good idea. I will make it a point to walk.

I think I might try some yoga. before the six weeks. Do you feel like you bounced back faster starting so soon (working out?)

It definitly helped out. But like I said I took it easy at first then built up to my usual workout. You don't want to overdue it.

I was 3 weeks PP when I started working out again, I waited until my stitches had been checked by my OBGYN and were completely healed, I felt great but was worried I could still hurt myself so I started doing hot yoga. Im 7 weeks now and I do everything I did before...gym, weights, running and yoga.
