I used Avent.

My reason is that my SIL was using them for my niece so I just registered for them as well!

We use the medela. It fit our breatpump so that is what we started him on. He didn't like the Dr. Browns or anything with a wide nipple. I would go with the medela.

My daughter never took a bottle, other than while she was in the NICU, and they just used a generic sterile nipple..

**NUK is off the market because of BPA in the bottles

I'm a mother-to-be w/my first rite now so I don't know yet which bottle my daughter will accept. However I've read reviews on BabysRus.com about several brands.
I read that Avent bottles leak alot and give to much air. Then again there are women who used them and it worked great for them, so I guess you just have to experiment on your own.
O yea I also read that for somebabies, they were given the brand Soothie pacifiers at the hospital, so they would only take that same brand back home.
My hospital gives Soothies, but I like what I've read about gerber NUKs so I've put those on my registries.

They are making new bottles.. the old ones have been taken off shelves, at least at Walmart, from what I understand...

"Unsafe: Nuk/1st Choice; Preemie; Comfort Hold; licensed character bottles (discontinued).
BPA IQ: Moderate. Gerber, one of the largest infant products companies in the world, may be in a state of transition. The company was sold in April, and one customer service rep told us that the company was finding that parents "didn't want to buy polycarbonate bottles," which might explain the company's unusual number of non-polycarbonate offerings. A ZRecs reader also reported that a Gerber customer service rep told her that the company plans to begin list their bottles' plastic types on their website, which would be a first for any major bottle company. Calls to their public relations desk were not returned by our deadline, but even with their motives and direction unclear, the fact remains that Gerber is one of the few leading manufacturers which is producing new bottle designs that do not use polycarbonate plastic (GentleFlow) while maintaining a low-dollar flagship product (most Clear View varieties) in polypropylene."
