Military Mommas

so i know you all have probleyheard it b4... my fiancee is in the marines & thank god his post-deployment leave was the same time my daughter was born & he got to see her for the first two weeks of her life... well, he's been gone 2 1/2 months now and i can't stand to think of him being gone another 9 months... anyone have any good ideas to help me think of other things??

Mommy/baby groups, start a cool hobby like making hair bows for babies or something cool like that. Now is a perfect time to get out there and meet some other military (or non-mil) mama's in your community. Good luck hun, I hope the time flies by super quick for you!

hahah, now that's an idea, but my baby girl is just now getting her hair in so she might be able to use it in a year or so, LOL

I've been reading a lot and hanging out with my family while my hubby is gone. Three months down! He's in the Marines as well.

Find lots of things to keep you busy. I agree with Whitney, now is the time to take up a hobby

i think i've found a good one that will last me a LONG time... scrapbooking the hundreds of pictures i've taken of my baby girl, LOL... an unending project!!

Definetely find some other moms to hang out with. When my husband was gone all my friends were other moms, and I didnt even have the baby yet lol, but he is about to leave again and I will be having another baby and I think its great being able to hang out with other moms, then they dont complain on what you cant do bc of your kids.

Also I cn occupy myself a lot so this may not work for you, but you can always stock up on books to read or a computer game to play. Hobbies are great at passing time. Last time I started writting in a journal all the time and it helped a lot....not only did it pass time when I was writting but I got my feelings out and didnt take things out on my husband too much lol

Haha there you go. I never had the patience or scrap booking lol. I've tried cross-stitching, writing, reading, aghhh......my hobby was cleaning haha. The art of cleanliness is almost perfected.

When my husband was deployed, I worked fulltime, went to school part time, babysat part time, and took care of my 1 year old. Honestly it kept my mind off the deployment pretty good, but I wouldnt suggest doing THAT much! It was almost too much. But definatly try to stay busy!

Alright sounds good....I can cook dinner exspecially with clean dishes lol. I will even take you to a beach trip
