Just curious. I see a lot of young women on here (myself included) who are married. Just wondering if it was because of the pregnancy..and if you had to marry? And I also would like to know when you got married...ie the poll optionss! Thanks ladies!

I'll add that I've been with my husband for almost 5 years, and he proposed 3 times before I got pregnant..in which I said no, then 2ce after I got pregnant, lol. I said yes finally and then we got hitched after our daughter was born!

Me and my boyfriend are planning on getting married after our daughter is born, and no we're not getting married b/c i got pregnant. We acually talked about getting married wayy before.

The hubby and I were together for a few years before getting married the first time......and we were married before our daughter was 2 months. The second time we were married (yes we were divorce for a few years) we got married the month before our son was born.   It can be a strange relationship LOL but it's a much stronger one now!

My oldest daughter's father wanted me to marry him, but I said no, and a good thing too because pretty much everything out of his mouth ever to me was a lie, so I dodged that bullet. My husband proposed to me, and I said yes, and we were in the wedding planning process when I got pregnant with my second, and we just kept with the plan and got married when I was 5 months along. And now here we are expecting our last one (my 3rd, his 2nd), and he is in the process of adopting my oldest, and we are super happy!!... so that's my story

My husband and I got married in 2002, and we got pregnant with my son a few months later, he came in 2003. My daughter came in 2004 and this one is 2008!

I met my husband May 1st of 2007, had our first date on the 11th and by the 31st, found out we were expecting. I thought it would just be a fling and was planning on moving back to Chicago mid-June. Needless to say, that didn't happen. I stupidly thought that he would change his ways and stop gettind drunk on account of the fact that he'sboth physically and verbally abusive once his son was born but nope. No such luck. We married November 18th of last year but I did it because I thought I was doing what was best for him. I thought it was the right thing to do - I never truly wanted it but I knew I couldn't be selfish anymore with a son on the way.

I never wanted to marry anyone (or have children, for that matter). This is not the way I thought marriage would be but it's exactly the reason I never wanted to wed in the first place.

Oh, and just an update - we will be divorced soon. It's not like I'm just giving up but how to you work things out with a physically and verbally abusive alcoholic and cocaine head who just doesn't care and doesn't consider anyone else's feelings and who always thinks everything is my fault? It's a lost cause that I will NOT have our son raised around.

Regardless, there are some relationships that do work out and they met and rightr away, concieved and were married - but from a personal opinion and aspect, unless you've known the person for a really long time (such as yourself for 5 years now) and you get pregnant then, then decide to get married, I would never suggest doing what I did.

Im not married, nor do I plan on it at any specific plan. Ive been with my b/f (BD) for the last 2 years, but see no reason to get married due to getting pregnant. One day maybe...I dunno when Ill be ready, but for now I say why put a stress on a perfectly good thing?

This may sound rude...and I swear I'm not meaning for it to be..but it just seems odd that there are so many 15-17 year old girls on this site who are pregnant and married so young. Seems weird that the parents would sign off for them to get married unless they were pregnant or something? And again..that was not said to be an asshole..it's just something I've wondered. I'm a 2 time young mommy so I'm no hater.  

I've been with my husband since we were in 8th grade!!! We went all through high school together, then different colleges and waited to get married until we both graduated. We will have been married for 4 years in October but have been together for ummmmm 13 years!!! (almost 1/2 of my life - i'm 27)

We had our first child in March  

I got married Sept 18 , 2007 & we have a 5 year old together ... so I would so it really didnt play a part in us getting married .

And now this baby is due Sept 18 , 2008 .... 

Matt and I are planning on getting married once our lives get organized (job, moving in together)

We were wanting to get married before the baby came but the parents didn't like that idea to much. We were proposed for months before we got pregnant and were talk about marriage months before we got proposed.....

I think there are SOME states that allow you to marry at 15 or something - I'm not sure on that one, though. While there are FEW marriages that work out with people that young, I don't agree with it. What do you know about marriage at that age? I'm 29 and regret marrying my husband and still don't know a damn thing about marriage. And why are 15 year olds getting pregnant in the first place?

Oh no, I'm pretty sure that you have to be at least18 to get married without parent consent or at least 16 with a parent consent.

Correct me if I'm worng.....
