First stage of labor

Oh man I can't believe this has begun. The midwife said I'm 3-4 cm dilated and I don't even want to talk about the plug. I never knew it was so gelatenous, so gross. It doesn't stop either, there is like unlimited supply ewwww. Anyway anyone else in the first stage of labor right now. I'm having horrible cramps every so minutes but nothing consistent yet. I have had hardly any sleep at all. Just wondering if anyone else is going through this too. I feel like a wimp and I know I shouldn't say "I'm not sure if I can handle this" but I feel like I'm going to forget to breathe when it gets worse. Also to top it off I have a nice case of PUPPPS oh yay.

Yay! It won't be much longer before you get to hold your little guy! It's worth every minute of labor.

Thank you. I'm seriously not just saying it to be a drama queen or hypocondriac but I am terrifed of having an anxiety attack . My breathing seems to be taking a mind of its own and I am losing my breath when these come on. Their just like bad menstrual cramps I must be a big wuss. I hope that I don't have some horrible condition lol.

I know how u feel sweetie. I had contractions non stop for five days straight got maybe 5 hours a sleep during that time.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Take a moment, breathe in deep through your nose, slowly out your mouth. You can do this! We're all supporting you

I guess its all apart of becoming a mommy at least I know he's healthy and has a strong heartbeat. I'd think that by me breathing heavy would put a strain on him.

I guess this is why they say to bring a picture to fixate on because you seriously do need to take your mind off tihs horrible pain.

Aww thanks I'll keep doing my cleansing breaths. See I have to be reminded I didn't think it would be so tough. I think I'm going to go lay down for a few and try to drink some water. I'll be back later on.

I dont know about anybody else but nothing could take my mind off the pain. I was reliefed when i had my epi

I second that. Once my water broke, OMG. Epi is definitely your friend, and I was going to try to go as natural as possible. It's ok to get an epi

i know how you feel im even more scared becouse i know how it feels ive been threw it.. it helps me to think to myself ladys have bee doing this since the beginning of time with less then what we have today im strong i can do this!!
