New January Mommies thread!

Hey January mommies, i only seen one thread for us and it was already started 500 pages ago!!! so i was hoping to start a new one! so we can all be on the same page!! I hope this works out good!! I'm Janella, i'm from East Boston Mass, i'm 26, married and we are expecting our first baby in January!! I'm so nervous about everything, and i grew up also raised by 4 older brothers, so i have no females in my life to really talk to about this!! I have no clue what to expect but i have been doing alot of reading, and research!! honestly i'm really lonely and want to get as much company as i can right now! my husband is in jail, and we still dont know when he will come home!! I'm doing this all alone, witch yes i know will make me stronger in the long run! but its always good to talk to girls that know what i'm going through!! So i went to my first doc app 2 days ago and i got to hear my baby's heart beat for the first time! i started balling my eyes out, and then she told me that i'm due on the 15th instead of the 21st!! i already had one ultra-sound done when i was about 6 weeks, on that day she thought it was the 21st, but i guess by the ultra-sound pic i'm further along than what we thought!! I have my second ultra-sound coming on the 1st of july!! i cant wait!!! I hope to talk to some good girls that we can all share all this with!! Im Tashena. Im 21 and expecting my third baby in January [[the 9th - woohoo!!]] My other two children are my son, Jerzee, who is 4 years old and my daughter, Jissella, who will be 2 years old in September. Ive been with their dad, Isaac, since I was a sophomore in high school.

Hi January mommies. I am also a January mommy. My due date is the 16th. I have already been told that I will have a C-section so it will actually be the week before. I have a 12 month old son, Evan and I am finding that it is so much harder to be pregnant this time. Janella, enjoy your first pregnancy. Take lots of naps. Are you guys going to find out the gender of your baby? We will find out Sept. 2nd. I think it's neat to wait and find out but I'm too impatient I guess. Well, I hope everyone if feeling good. Im not sure if we are going to find out the sex of the baby. I did find out with my first baby, after five ultrasounds he finally showed us his secret!! But with our daughter she was stubborn too and wouldnt show us, so we found out at her birth. Having had it both ways, i can say they are both very special, and both have pros and cons so i guess we'll just have to see when the ultrasound gets here!!

Hello Mommies! I am 23 and pregnant with my second child. Our due date is January 5th! My husband and i have a 2 year old son named Jude, who is quite a handful! I cant wait to find out the sex of this baby! more power to those of you who want to wait, but i hate not knowing! for the past 4 years, i worked at a small texas winery as the tasting room manager. When we found out i am expecting again, i left my job to stay home with the little one(s). I would love to connect with other January mommies! Congratulations to everyone, and no worries Janelle, you are in for quite a ride! if i could give any advice, it would be to REST, REST, REST! i miss that so much, i dont get too much rest with this pregnancy becuase of my son, but wouldnt have it any other way!  

Hello! I am brand new to the site and came across this thread and decided to register! I am a 29 yr old mother of 3 and 1 more on the way! My kids are 11(almost 12), 9, 6 so this one is kinda a loner    BUT I believe it will be an awesome experience as the kids are old enough to remember their brother or sister coming into this world!!
I will also find out what this baby is...I've been feeling it's a girl but I guess you never know!

Hi ladies, newbie to the site here and already have questions about it...why does it say that i am 13 weeks pregnant, i am only 10. it is skipping wayy ahead, making me feel like i slept through the three weeks since i last checked, which could indeed be possible since i've been so tired and sleeping a lot myself. Anyways, i am a new time mom to be, due date Jan.25th (though i have a feeling i will give birth in february because i know when i got pregnant for sure and the doctor's estimated date is by my LMP) anyways, i have my first doc appointment on July 17th, so will see if things change then. I will besure to update you ladies on that. Otherwise, I look forward to getting to know all of you and enjoying this exciting experience with you all!

Hey, Im also a newbie to this site but found this thread & was very happy that I did!
Ive read most of ur posts & can relate in one way or another. Ive passed the magical 12 week mark (hooray for me!) & Im a lot calmer now Ive passed it, Im due on Jan the 6th but I have yet to have my first u/s! I guess I shouldnt be too worried, my dr sed I shouldnt need to have my first til Im about 18wks along, (I decided that I didnt want the test for Downs Syndrome as I'd want my baby whether it had it or not & it was a waste of money) I've since changed my mind lol butI assume that means everything is moving along ok & theres nothing to warrant a scan, but I am just so desperate to see him or her!
JanellaI'm having the exact same smoking issues as you, I used to smoke like a chimney but Ive actually cut down to about 5 a day & yes its killing me too! My partner hates it & is on my back constantly, I think you will, like me, give up when u visibly start to show, the stares you get from people are just horrid, I know, I used to give them. Before I fell pregnant & we were trying I always said to my partner & his mother "the only time I'll go cold turkey is when I fall pregnant" Ive since learned its easier said than done, it doesnt help that my sister smoked 16mg cigarettes when she was pregnant & had 2 beautiful girls with no health problems, but thats still no excuse, I just feel so selfish & guilty but my pregnancy hormones mixed with my nicotine cravings arent fun for my dear boy, Im a cranky little b when Im off the cigarettes.
Anyway just thort I'd share my thoughts on that since Ive finally found someone thats in the same boat as me lol.

Hi! I posted on the really long Jan 09 thread but I figured I'd pop in here too!
Congrats to all of us expecting in Jan! My hubby and I have been married for over 3 years now and are expecting our third in January. The due date the doc gave us is Jan 18. We went to the doc last on June 16h and she couldn't pick up the heartbeat yet but I'm hoping for better luck next time. I might go in on Monday again because I'm a basket of nerves lately about it and it would do wonders for me I think to hear the HB. I've been blessed that I haven't had any classical morning sickness. I'm a frequent migrainer too and they have completely dissapearred so YAY!! I hope you are all as excited as I am. I hope to get to know you better! God bless!!!

i'm also a Jan 09 mummy to be   due on the 20th, (pending next ultrasound) i too like some of you girls am a smoker... and i am SO relieived to see other people finding it as hard as what i am.... i also said the age od "if i fall pregnant i'll go cold turkey" PFFFTTT yeh right!! its sooooo hard, but i have severly cut myself back... i am 26 yrs old and i live in Australia, i'm an army wife who moves around alot so i would love a due date buddy or anyone who would like to share their experiences with me, as i dont get to meet many people, Hubby is in afghanistan untill after bugalugs birthand have no girlfriends here to support me thru all of this, my email address is me_mik_mok_moo@hotmail.com i have set it up just for this...

welcome again everyone! luckily, i am not a smoker, buti am sure you ladies are having a hard time with it. just hang in there, and remember why its important! you dont even have to quit forever, just the next 6 or 7 months! i agree that this site is a little awkward to nav, but like you said Meika, may just be baby brain!

its sooo good to see i'm not the only one having a hard time hear with smoking!! its really driving me crazy!! the crazy thing is, is that i know if my husband was around he would make me quit, and it would be alot easier with his help!! He has helped me quit harder things!! lol!! he's my life saver, and he rides through everything with me! this is so hard doing this all without him! i cant wait until he's home!! it just seems like its gonna be forever! Now we are just waiting for a bed to open up in a 6-9month program for him to get out!! He will be in a program but he will be able to come with me to the docs, and i'll be able to see him everyday, and spend the nights with him during the weekends! i cant wait!! Anyway yummymommy, i'm going to get the test for down syndrom on Tuesday!! I feel the same way, of course i would love my baby just the same, but god forbig if something like that does happen, i think it would be easier to be ready!! How do you get ready for that i dont know!! Meika i'm definitly gonna hit you up, i'm going to parentank all of you today! i really want to keep in touch with all us January mommies, i have no one either Meika, and i would love to go through all this with you!! oh i have a couple questions!! All this week i'v really been just in a bad mood, everything little thing is really agravating me, and really getting under my skin, i'm extremely snappy! i'm not the type of girl that cried easily, so i'm not sure if its cause of that i'm so snappy and moody, cause i cant really release myself!! But i really am just ready to snap!! is this normal, i do have alot going on in my life, between my husband being gone, quiting my job, and not having any money, having to move back home with my brothers blah blah blah!! but it doesnt feel like thats just it, i'm more moody than i have ever been!! And i'm letting the littlest things get to me, and the big things i'm just like blah about!! And, at the very very beginning of this pregnancy all i could do is sleep sleep sleep, some times its still like that, once in a great while, but lately i'm having a hard time staying asleep, i fall asleep easy, but i wake up 100times a night to pee, and once i wake up i have a hard time falling back to sleep! is that my nerves. or is this another pregnancy thing? This other question is totally of subject, but i was reading some posts and a couple girls where all excited cause they got a sticky or something like that!!??? what is a sticky?? lol!!
let me know whats up girls, am i just emotional basket case, or am i just pregnant!!

Hi ladies! I'm 32 from Holly Springs, GA. (About 45 miles north of Atlanta.) I'm married and this is my second child. My daughter is 10 years old so it has been quite some time since my first pregnancy. With my first I didn't start showing till I was about 4 1/2 months. With this one, I'm already starting to show a little and I'm only 3 months. My due date is 1/9.
As far as the crankiness goes, it may have something to do with your hormones and it could also have something to do with the battle you are having with smoking. Better yet, a combination of both. Just remember this when you want to smoke... it's not all about you anymore. Whatever you put into your body, you are putting into your baby's body. I too was a smoker when I got pregnant with my first. I imagined my baby gasping for air everytime I wanted to smoke and that kept me from smoking. I recommend doing some research on what happens everytime you smoke and what it does to your baby. You won't want to smoke ever again. (At least while you are pregnant.) I watch a lot of Discovery Health and have seen many programs on how it travels to your baby and what it does. Trust me! You don't want to smoke while you are pregnant.
