baby moving into position early ... (also posted in l&d)

posted 27th Jun
I'm due on the 14th of August (33 weeks now) and my baby girl has been head-down since my 27th week. Has anyone else experienced this, and had their baby come early, on time, or late? Also, I'm measuring perfectly- 33cm at 33 weeks- and have been the whole time- what does this usually mean regarding birth weight? Thanks in advance!

Well, I dont know about weight. But I just had another ultrasound this past wednesday and I'm 25 weeks and 4 days, and my girl is already head down weighing in at 1 lb. 8 oz. I'm hoping she stays in this position!

My little girl went head down around week 28 and stayed there. But I've had no other labor symptoms- no dialation, no effacement, no contractions, etc. So we're expecting baby will be late. I don't think her head down position has anything to do with when I deliver though. So I wouldn't worry about it, baby will just come when baby and your body are ready. Good luck!

My baby has been head down since week 20 that I know of... Apparently it's due to the fact that I have a tilted uterus.. But my first was the same way and she was late... but it really has nothing to do with anything... Your baby will come when it's ready.

Baby moving into the head down position is no indicator of a pending early labor. It's normal for babies to move into head down position at pretty much anytime, just like they can flip back around for a while. It's no cause for concern unless your doc mentioned it as one. Mainly b/c the best indicator of a preterm or early labor is a changing cervix or too many contractions. So it's nothing to worry about

I had an ultrasound at 20 week and at 30 weeks and both times my little girl has been head down. I don't think it really means an early labor, I'm hoping it just means our little ones are not stubborn..LOL
