bacteria infection in the bladder

posted 27th Jun
i have been getting treatment for a bacterina infection since April. i keep having to get on different antibotics because nothing seems to be clearing it up. my doc said that we have to get more aggressive with it because it will spread to my kidneys if we don't. i have had issues with my kidneys and bladder and uretha for a little over a year now. i had a cyst on my uretha that was causing infections, and i had kidney stones last year. i had surgery to remove the cyst last aug and passed the kidney stones last sept. so i had been doing well until i got pregnant. the cyst was caused from childbirth of my first daughter. i'm afraid that getting aggressive with the meds may affect my baby. doc said it won't hurt him. but i know as well as everyone what i ingest the baby does as well. but i can't let the infection get any worst. its getting to the point where i hurt to walk when i need to go to the restroom. i went to the restroom about 20 min ago and there was blood when i wiped. i don't know if its in my urine or if its coming from my uterus. i'm at work and there is already and issue with me being pregnant that i don't want to say anything. Ughhhhhhhh. i'm sorry ladies i just don't know what to do. i've never had this issue before while pregnant so i'm at a lost.

Okay the blood thing can't be good, I think I'd at least call about that.I wouldn't worry so much about the agressive treatment as long as it is just antibiotics, infection is so much more harmful than antibiotics.Have you ever had the urethra stretching, because I literally used to get a uti every month for years til I got a uroligist(sp) who did the stretching. Now don't get me wrong it hurts like an SOB but I have only had one infection in the last 11 years(of course you would have to wait til after baby). Also I really feel for ya, all that pain and being pregnant and kidney stones (yikes) I wish you a quick recovery!!!

I had a bladder infection too with my pregnancy. Luckily it cleared up. Drink a lot of cranberry juice as well. I bought the 100% juice kind and drank at least one glass a day as well as lots of water. I still drink the cranberry juice now at least once or twice a week just to keep thinks clean.

What kind of pain are you having?

extreme pressure on my bladder. i thought it was just the baby sitting on it at first but not anymore. i can't walk too fast. i can't put a lot of weight on my left side because it hurts so bad in my pelvic area. i feel really bad right about now. i just started the new meds last night. i've had bladder infections and uti before but this is the pits. its gets worst day by day. because of it now i have to go the doc every 2 weeks.

Aww hun. I'm sorry! I hope everything works out. I would trust the doctor as far as the meds go but if you're having doubts, research it or get a second opinion. I understand how hard it is working and having pregnancy issues also. People are already looking at you like you want sympathy or whatever because you're pregnant when you really don't and then to complain about something seems to only confirm that in the minds of others. And of course, everyone can understand working period, because hell, we need to work for money to support our children and ourselves. However...sometimes you just have to bite the bullet so to speak and say the hell with it and miss work. I have been off this week since Tuesday. My regular days off are Friday and Saturday! But my daughter was positioned on a nerve and back was killing me by the time I left work on Tuesday so I decided I wasn't going back until Sunday. My doctor suggested maybe taking a few days off. Maybe you should consider doing the same. Because nothing is more important then your health and the health of your son. Nothing at all.

I hope you feel better soon!
