hand me downs

My bfs mom has a bunch of bedding sets for cribs so she brought them over so I could see if I wanted any ( they both are expecting me to change to whole theme of the room ALOT ) she also said not to throw them away to give them back to her. Well 1st I am not so crazy about any of them, 2nd I dont have room for them! So I asked my boyfriend if she could store them because we have no room, he tells me to put them in the babys room, but the box is huge and would look like shit.
So now he is freaking out because I am being a bitch about it because I dont want used stuff, its really not about it being used its just because I dont have room plus I am not so crazy about them.

I dont think I should just keep them just so her feelings dont get hurt, I dont want to be rude but its my child I have to like them.
Plus she said to bring the back anyways.

Do you think I should just bite my tongue?
Or do I have the right to say no?

Say no .You have every right. Jeff's mom is the opposite, she doesn't want any used stuff when we got a brand new crib and pack n play from a friend who only used it with one child. clothes and bedding i don't think I would use if it was used though, that just seems weird. You have every right to say no, so do it! And Good luck!!

say no. tell her you had your heart set on another set that your baby could keep forever. if she doesnt understand she can go screw off.

in my case when something like that happens my husband talks her out of it. tell ur bf to help out.

You have the right to say no of course BUT, because they are given to you, accept them. BUT (again), do not use them. Hide them. I dont know where but HIDE them. It does not matter if they notice later on that you have never used it or never intend to use it. It does not matte. Just tell her that you never got the chance to use it because you have plenty already and if she wants them back, she is quite welcome to them.

One more thing, you could almost say something like, 'Keep them for when we come visit" or something..

you need to tell her the truth b/cus it will start with beding and then it will increace to other stuff and you will have to keep biting your tounge.

its upto you how honest you want to be... you can be blunt and just say thanks but i dont like them or you could just tell her that as nice as they are they dont go with your colour scheme.

Ya the thing is she doesnt speak english and so I have to tell my boyfriend to tell her and he is pissed about it because he wants to change the bed room theme every other month..which I think is a little crazy!

yeah seriosuly, and i HIGHLY doubt i will ever a guy changign a nursery every month haha. i mean i guess theres always the few exception in every few million people, but come on, seriously??! i dont even have time to change the sheets as often as i need to,let along a whole nursery!

Ya I have told him that, but because his mom did it, he thinks we should, she also never used a changing table so he thinks its a waste of money to get.

well i agree with him abou tthe changing table, i always change lylian on the floor or bed. i never used one when babysitting ro with my brother, and i wouldnt use it even if i had one for lylian. but yeah, lemme guess his mom used to stay home and have nothing better to do than change the nursery? some people are just like that, but obviously theres so much to do these days theres no time for that stuff. i can think of 100 things better to do than change the nursery 100 times.

No she works, but I guess she likes to change everything A LOT the two years we have been dating the bath room has changed every other month, personally I think that is a waste of money, and dont understand it because she is always telling my bf that they are broke...she borrows money off him A LOT.
