Quoting lolajessup:“ eepers that sounds terrible i hope they fix it, thats crazy shes 18 months and still had umbilical ... [snip!] ... umbilical cord probs i cant believe he said its negelct, obviously you have one child not have a problem, makes no sense.”no no no, not neglect on my end.. this pedi has been our pedi since my first was born... well for the most part.. we moved out of state for a while, so my little one saw a different pedi... and the current pedi was saying the the last pedi was neglegant to NOT notice it until 2 months, bc apparently he should have noticed it soon after the umbilical cord fell off. sorry if I didn't explain that well enough!!!
Quoting WiFeY- MoMMy- PReGGo:“ Yikes, thats scary!! My little girl is almost 2 and still has an umbilical hernia, but that is scary that they didnt diagnose it until then!!”what is an umbilcal hernia? is it like a reg. hernia? Bc Apparently Aurora has one of those too... it is right above her belly button, just a little lump and they told me it was too little to worry about, but that they would watch it as she got older, is that different then what your daughter has?

Quoting WiFeY- MoMMy- PReGGo:“ The hole that allowed the umbilical cord to go through never closed up. She still has it and her intestines ... [snip!] ... she has grown. Shes almost 2 and if it hasnt closed by her 4th bday they want to do surgery to close it. Heres a pic of it: ”aww, poor baby. Why do they wait so long to do something about it? it just seems that something like that would warrant surgery earlier than 4 years!! I guess as moms we think differently huh.
Quoting lolajessup:“ ooh ok i was gonna say i cant believe h accused you of that. now i understand. poor baby, i hope it heals soon.”thank you, adn I hope she gets better soon too! But yeah, if my Dr. ever accused me of neglect on my kids, I don't think I would ever go back... bc like you said I have one perfectly healthy one... ya know it just wouldn't make sense.
Quoting Team Blue (16 more weeks):“ aww, poor baby. Why do they wait so long to do something about it? it just seems that something like that would warrant surgery earlier than 4 years!! I really would rather her get the surgery as a baby, then play the wait and see game, especially since its her intestines that poke out...
